Seeking Researchers and Clinicians to Support a Legal Challenge |

Doctors for America is seeking declarants to challenge a proposed federal grant rule that could dramatically restrict federally funded research and undermine scientific independence. To support this effort, we are seeking researchers, clinicians, and institutions who expect to be directly harmed by the proposal. We are particularly interested in hearing from individuals who: - Have active federal grants that may be terminated, restricted, or significantly altered because of the proposed rule.
- Have changed, delayed, or halted research due to uncertainty or the rule's new funding restrictions.
- Plan not to apply for future federal funding because the rule makes research planning, hiring, clinical trials, or collaborations impractical.
- Believe their work would no longer be eligible for funding because it relates to topics such as health equity, disparities research, gender identity, or other areas targeted by the proposal.
- Collaborate with researchers or institutions in countries identified by the proposed rule and fear those collaborations may jeopardize funding.
- Use federal grant funds for activities that could be prohibited under the rule, including conferences, publication costs, journal subscriptions, or certain public communications.
