Dear First name / TRS Families,

 

We have some exciting updates to share as we prepare to welcome students and families back to campus in just a couple weeks.

 

We’re thrilled to announce two new additions to our admin team! 

deAnna Petruch has stepped into the role of Student Life Director here at The Rock School, bringing energy, authenticity, and a heart for helping young people feel seen and supported. She's an author and educator, and as a proudly neurodiverse wife and mom, she brings a unique and personal perspective to her work with students.

 

Through her background in education and KidMin, deAnna developed a passion for creating learning environments where kids feel celebrated for who they are. She has spent much of her career working with neurodiverse students, helping them build confidence and find their footing in ways that honor how they're wired. She's also a published author, having written a book on supporting neurodiverse kids.

 

Known for her spunky spirit and imaginative approach, deAnna believes education should feel meaningful, joyful, and deeply human. She's looking forward to making space for every student to belong here at TRS.

Cailin Davison has joined TRS as our new Play Club Director and Office/Operations Assistant, bringing energy and a heart for Christian education to our team. She recently moved to Gainesville from Ocala and holds a degree in education, giving her a great foundation for supporting our students and families behind the scenes.

 

This will be Cailin's fourth year working in private Christian education, and she's excited to bring that experience into her new role here at TRS. She'll be working alongside Ty Roy and Kayla Pollard in the office, and she's looking forward to getting to know our students and parents this year.

 

On a personal note, Cailin is engaged to be married and will soon be taking on a new last name, Dunham. We're so glad to have her join The Rock School during such an exciting season of life.

God continues to bless The Rock School with growth, and we’re welcoming new teachers in nearly every area this year. We can’t wait for you to meet them at Meet the Teacher in just a couple of weeks!

SUMMER ANNOUNCEMENTS

Please take a moment to review our updated Uniform Policies. Our hope is that both students and parents will approach the policy with a heart to honor its purpose—not just the wording—by upholding the spirit behind our uniform guidelines.

 

We know many of you are eager to get started on school supplies! The official Student Supply List will be included in Summer Update #4, landing in your inbox on July 29. Our teachers use their preplanning week to collaborate and streamline the list, so you’ll have one clear, consolidated document—no guesswork needed!

 

 

👩🏻‍🏫 Preschool Meet the Teacher  |  July 31, 2026

Preschool families are invited to come meet teachers and see classroom space on Friday, July 31st at 9:30am, with a Parent Orientation at 10am in the auditorium.

 

 

Last names A-L: 9:00a – Parent Orientation in Auditorium

Last names A-L: 9:30-10:30a – Classroom Visits

Last names M-Z: 11:00a – Parent Orientation in Auditorium

Last names M-Z: 11:30-12:30a – Classroom Visits

 

Meet the Teacher will flow a little differently this year! During the Parent Orientation times, incoming 6th Graders, and all new MYP students in grades 7-10 will join Mrs. Petruch, Student Life Director, for a traveling orientation with campus tour at 9 and 11.

 

If online Home Campus portal is not open before tryouts on July 27, players will need to bring paper copies of documentation to tryouts in order to participate. Keep on eye on www.therockathletics.school for updates. 

 

 

Join us Friday, July 24 for open gym. Middle school students play from 5:00 to 6:30 PM, and high school students play from 6:30 to 8:00 PM. Come play, get some reps in, and have fun before the season kicks off.

JV and Varsity tryouts are July 26th and 27th at 5:30 PM.
