Hi First name / friend, “Wow, I can't believe I just told you that." This is what a nursing assistant said to me at a local retirement community. I wasn't even there to interview her, but she saw me waiting in the lobby with my equipment, became curious, and asked what I was doing. When I shared about Eternal Echoes, she began opening up and sharing pieces of her own story. A few minutes later, after telling me things she had never shared with many people, she paused and said, “Wow, I can’t believe I just told you that.” I had to chuckle because, believe it or not, this happens to me quite often. People have always seemed comfortable opening up to me. But I always see it as a reminder that part of the calling behind this ministry is not just capturing stories—it’s creating space for people to feel seen, heard, and valued. And in a world filled with constant noise, opinions, and distractions, I've found that simply listening can be a profound act of love. Things are shifting! In this season, the Lord has been redirecting my steps and calling me to embrace the new things He has for me and this ministry. Join me on the podcast as I discuss: 👉🏻 Why Eternal Echoes is shifting away from the podcast 👉🏻 Learning to trust God when He only reveals the next step 👉🏻 How God is the ultimate "rerouter” 👉🏻 The hidden work God does in us while we're building 👉🏻 Lessons from Noah and Elijah about faith, obedience, and provision To give you a glimpse of the impact these conversations with older believers have had, here's a message I recently received from a listener: "I want to express my sincere appreciation for the beautiful vision and heart behind Eternal Echoes. In a world where the voices and experiences of older believers are sometimes overlooked, your ministry is a powerful reminder that every generation carries a testimony of God’s faithfulness. The stories, wisdom, and spiritual heritage of faithful believers are like echoes that continue to point people back to Christ. Thank you for being obedient to God’s calling and for creating a space where generations can learn from one another, encourage one another, and strengthen the body of Christ." |

As I continue stepping into local assisted living facilities and retirement communities, I’m continually amazed by the way God orchestrates divine appointments. For instance, the nursing assistant I mentioned in the intro above knows many of the residents in one of these communities and has been connecting me with men and women who have incredible stories to share. Who knows, I might even interview her! I haven’t released any of these interviews yet, but I’m excited to begin sharing them in the coming weeks (I'm aiming for late August/beginning of September). While they will no longer be published in the podcast format, I will be sharing clips on: |

Speaking of divine appointments, just the other day I caught up with a friend and mentor of mine who the Lord strategically placed in my life shortly after launching this ministry. She was an answer to prayer because not only did she catch the vision for Eternal Echoes, but she has also lived a life of walking by faith and trusting the Lord to direct her steps—even when they led her in unexpected directions. She is FULL of wisdom (I actually interviewed her on the podcast a while back…you can listen here) and I wish I had recorded our conversation this time, too. We covered so many things, but one thing in particular continues to stay with me: surrendering our expectations of what we think our life should look like. So today, I invite you to consider the following question alongside me: Are there certain expectations you're holding onto that you need to surrender to the Lord? |

Welcome back to our “Meet a Board Member” section! This month we're featuring Meg Barry, a retired elementary school educator who carries a deep love for the Lord. A prayer warrior at heart, Meg is actively involved in Christian Renewal Church on Hilton Head Island, SC, faithfully serving as a prayer group leader, member of the altar team, and facilitator for women’s Bible studies. When asked why she supports Eternal Echoes, Meg shared: "I count it a privilege to serve on Katharine's board and support her faithful obedience to God's calling to champion the elderly. Through Eternal Echoes, she is giving honor to a generation rich in wisdom and reminding all of us of God's instruction: "Rise in the presence of the aged, show respect for the elderly and revere your God. I am the Lord" (Leviticus 19:32). I am grateful to play a small part in a ministry that gives dignity, value, and a voice to those who have so much to teach us." |
