In the Kitchen with Mandy
Issue 22
I want to connect with y'all the way we once did before social media became so tricky, so grab a cup of coffee and let's catch up!

Y'all sick of me starting these things telling you to go get a cup of coffee yet?? haha! Well, all I can say is I'm sure sipping on mine and it's glorious and I'd just love for you to start your day as good as I'm starting mine!

The A/C is replaced and I've never been so happy to fork out that much money in all my life! 70% because it's nice and cool, 20% because it's going to save on the electric bill but also… 10% because I've been saying for YEARS that something was wrong with it and Husband would just stubbornly tell me it's hot outside. I'm like, look Mr. Canadian, I've been living in SC my whole life so I know what to expect from the air conditioner AND we have a brick home IN THE WOODS so no, it's not 80 degrees in here because it's just hot outside! OK… I had to get that out… I'll act right now!

I'm going to share recipes below that have been dive-bombed this week by a 1-star rating bandit. Recipes that had near perfect ratings now have way lower averages which will kill me in Google search. If you haven't made any of these, maybe pick one or two to try soon then rate them yourself you like!

Now that I think about it, this all started last week when I had that run-in with Ms. Etiquette so maybe that's who's behind this. Uggghhhhh….

just waiting on the light fixture to arrive and to find a few things for the walls (i still think it's too dark but baby girl looooooves it, so…)

I was tossing blankets on the couch deciding which to keep and throw away then hims posed like this and now we're keeping them all haha!!

I haven't gotten this far in life by tricking and scamming anybody and don't plan on starting now but I'd sure appreciate it if you'd like to try any of these recipes rate them!

On a more serious note… I'd like to share something with y'all and ask you to please pray for someone close to my heart. Remember me telling y'all that The Boy brought his buddy from Japan home to stay with us last Christmas? Well, our whole family fell in love with him in a way I could never have anticipated. Issei (pronounced E-say) is family now (he's even in the family group chat). Our sweet friend has learned that he has stage 4 lung cancer and it's in his adrenal glands. He is young and healthy and is trying so hard to stay optimistic but he is going to need help from above and beyond. So, please, if you will, whoever and whatever you pray to or seek help from, ask for Issei to be healed. Send your healing thoughts and prayers all the way across the world to Nagano, Japan where a kind, generous, funny young man named Issei needs all the help he can get.

Thank you for being here with me today my friends! I dumped a lot on you and I'm sorry for that!! But I feel like we've built a good little community here and I that you wouldn't mind me asking for prayers for our friend.

Also? Do something for yourself today! Take a nap, bake that pie only you like, let somebody else worry about supper, buy those new pajamas you wanted, go get lost in a book… whatever might ease your soul today, go do it!

Thank you for being here with me this morning! I appreciate each and every one of you!
