Real (approachable) Style Advice for Real (grown-up) Women with
Real (smart) Budgets

July 26, 2026

Dear First name / friend,
Hello!
I’m coming to you on a beautiful Sunday that’s capping off a string of incredible weather. It’s been a refreshingly quiet and relaxing weekend for us, including a gorgeous beach day yesterday.

Pretty much everyone we know has been at the Newport Folk Festival since Friday.  It’s a hugely popular annual event held at Fort Adams, about a mile from our house, that brings musicians and fans from all over the country. It’s never really appealed to us, but it does look like a great time. It’s a long day (once you’re in, you can’t leave and come back), lots of crowds, lots of great music, and fortunately they’ve had perfect weather for it.

I started the week in New Jersey visiting Jamie and three of our close college friends. It was a fairly impromptu trip, very casual, and exactly what we all needed. On Monday we spent the day by her beautiful backyard pool catching up, swimming, grilling, and solving all the world’s problems. 😄

Two of the girls had to get home Tuesday, and torrential rain changed our plans, so instead 3 of us settled in for the ultimate rainy-day activities—a movie (He's Just Not That Into You – such a classic chick flick) and Mahjong.

Jamie is a masterful game teacher, and I finally think I'm getting the hang of it. I’m still not completely sold though (my brain may have short-circuited a few times 🤪🤯). But it must be popular for a reason, and I know it's good for my noggin, so I'm hanging in there with it.

My favorite part? Jamie’s adorable Mahjong set. I love the cheerful colors and patterns almost as much as everyone else seems to love the game. I'll share it below.

I also got a sneak peek at some of the newest FlirtyFinds pieces she’s sourced, including a few necklaces that I think you’re going to love. I’ll share those below as well.

Here's Jamie's Maj set. She got hers a while ago when they were quite pricey. The prices have come down, and now hers is available over on The Zon:

Now, here’s the latest from B.Styled…
1. Style Problem Solved - Dressing the Mid-Life Middle
This week’s Style Problem Solved: One of the most common style questions I receive is how to dress a changing midlife body with confidence. This week, I shared the story of a woman I stalked met at church whose outfit stopped me in my tracks. I had to track her down afterwards to tell her how great she looked. This led to a brief but insightful conversation that I wanted to share….

I came home inspired and searched for similar pieces to recreate her look because I knew so many of my clients could benefit from the same formula.

Here are the key style lessons from her outfit:

👉🏼 Choose a structured shirt that skims your body—avoid styles that are too tight, too flimsy, or too oversized.

👉🏼 Look for pants with beautiful drape to create a long, balanced silhouette.

👉🏼 A shoe with a little lift (like a block heel or wedge) can subtly lengthen your legs and improve your overall proportions.

👉🏼 Use a substantial necklace (or modern hoop earring) to draw the eye upward and beautifully frame your face.

👉🏼 Remember: The goal isn’t to hide your body. It’s to create a balanced, polished outfit that helps you feel confident and comfortable.
