Naomi Chambers first reached out to us to document her solo show on display at The August Wilson African American Cultural Center in 2018. She was referred to us by one of our favorite local artsy folks, Casey Droege, and quickly became another of our favorite local artsy folks. At the time, Naomi told us she'd never had her work professionally photographed, so this was a big deal.

 

Later in 2021, she reached out to have us document her large-scale installation at the Mattress Factory Monterrey Annex.

 

Most recently, she reached out for documentation of her collaborative exhibition, titled Time Honored Specifics. The exhibition was held at The Warhol and included work by Naomi and her fellow Carnegie Mellon University School of Art 2026 MFA candidates, Afrooz Partovi and Bulumko Mbete. She's a past Carol R. Brown Award nominee, a recipient of an Investing in Professional Artists grant, a past Sybils Shrine resident artist, and a recent MFA graduate. She was also recently named to the 2026-2027 Artivist Academy Cohort at 1Hood—artists, organizers, storytellers, and changemakers crafting a more just future as they create and has a group show, L’Hirondelle, opening at Tomayko Foundation on August 6.
