It is already the end of July…summer is moving quickly and July was no exception. This month, I'm celebrating the successful completion of the second release of the Website Foundations Course and looking ahead to the next course release with early registrations starting on August 1st. 

 

In this edition of the newsletter I share the latest blog post, a few updates happening in the website world, as well as a featured plugin and a fun fact.

Course News

We've officially wrapped up the second release of the Website Foundations Course! Congratulations to those who joined me for this round and put in the time to plan, build and bring their website to life.  

 

Ready to build your own WordPress website but are not sure where to begin? Registration for the Fall release will open Saturday, August 1. 

 

Spots are limited so get on the waitlist to have early access to registration. Early registration is only open to those on the waitlist. 

 

For this release you will have the opportunity to join the course at the current investment of just $997 until August 8th when the price will increase to $1297. Save $300 with early registration.

Website & Industry News

We all are seeing AI influence everywhere and it is changing how people discover or research information online. 

 

Yoast SEO now includes an llms.txt feature that is designed to provide AI tools with a simplified guide to your websites important content. 

 

Keep in mind that llms.txt is still in its beginning stages and not all AI providers have officially accepted it as standard. You should view this as preparing for AI discovery and not a guarantee that your content will appear in AI answers. Elementor released Atomic elements earlier this year and in the latest release they added Atomic Grids and Atomic Loops to the elements. This addition provides you more layout options and control over element placement and sizing for your pages. 

 

Reminder: Elementor is a page builder and not a theme. Not sure if your website uses Elementor? No problem just contact me and I can help you out.  

WordPress version 7.0.2 was released this month and includes several security fixes. They recommend update to recent release immediately. Log into your website and check the WordPress version in your Dashboard. Need assistance just complete the online contact form or email me at lucy@lucylynnecreative.com.  

 

 

Featured Plugin: Yoast SEO

Do you want more people to find your website? Yoast SEO is the plugin that I add to my client sites. It takes some of guesswork out of search engine optimization by helping you set up keyphrase, SEO titles, meta descriptions, generate your XML sitemap, and optimize your content for search and more recently they introduced AI powered search tools.

 

The free version provides most website owners a solid foundation for managing their website's SEO without needing to be a SEO specialist. It “gamifies” the process adding a little fun to the process.

 

TIP: As a part of your monthly maintenance review your SEO titles and meta descriptions, and update your content. Search engines love fresh content. In addition, resubmit your XML sitemap to Google Search Console.
