August in Washington, DC

Hi First name / friend,

August in DC has that particular late-summer stillness — the city empties out a little as people escape to the beach or the mountains, and the rest of us who stay behind get to enjoy it a little quieter, a little slower.

This past month was a full one, in every sense. I rang in the Fourth with neighbors at our annual pig roast, with fireworks going off right behind the house — one of my favorite nights of the summer — and tried a handful of new restaurants around town with friends. On the work side, I had one of my best wins of the year: helping a client find and win a rare 3-bedroom unit in a sought-after condo building (fewer than one of these hits the market a year) and closing in under two weeks.

I also spent a good part of July in Florida with my mom, who was recently diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. I've been staying with her for appointments and helping her figure out next steps. It's been a lot, and I'm so grateful for the friends and family holding us up through it. If you've already reached out, thank you — it means more than you know.

As always, if you, or someone you know, is thinking about buying or selling in DC, Maryland, or Virginia, please send them my way. I'm always grateful for your trust and your referrals, and I'm happy to be a resource however I can.

Warmly,
 Hannah
