📕 Parent & Student Handbook Updates Our Student & Parent Handbook has been updated for the 2026-2027 school year, and we want to make sure every family takes time to go through it together with your student. It covers everything from daily expectations to campus procedures, and understanding it together sets your family up well for the year ahead. Our updated Campus Cell Phone Policy is part of our ongoing commitment to JOMO, the Joy of Missing Out. We believe our students grow best when they're fully present with the people around them, not distracted by a screen. Here's what that looks like on campus: |
Updated Cell Phone Policy: Students who need to reach a parent during the day should use the phone in the school office. Students in grades K through 8 are not permitted to use cell phones on campus at any time. Students in grades 9 through 12 are not permitted to use their cell phones from the time they arrive on campus until 3:05 pm. |
A few other sections have notable updates worth your attention: the uniform grid, discipline and discipleship, academic honesty, technology policy, attendance policy, campus procedures, and extracurricular guidelines. Please take time this week to read through the full handbook with your student. If you have questions, please reach out to our Student Life Director, deAnna Petruch. |
👕 Collaboratory Uniform Shop Wall The Collaboratory Uniform Shop Wall is now restocked, and live for your purchases. Visit www.therock.school/shop to view the uniform and Spirit Shirts available for purchase. *note: gym shorts will be restocked tomorrow morning. |
📅 Schedules and Teacher Assignments will be emailed Sunday evening, August 2nd, in anticipation of Meet the Teacher Monday morning. |

☀️ What's New with Play Club (for grades K-8) |
Any student in grades K-8 who has not been picked up by 3:30p will be placed under the supervision of our Play Club staff. Attendance is recorded, and families are billed at either a daily or monthly rate, whichever is less. Play Club is open until 6:00 p.m. A parent or another approved adult must sign your student out of Play Club. A minor sibling cannot check a student out. 📱Play Club Phone policy: new this year Phones are not permitted in middle school Play Club. This is a full no phone policy, including calls to parents. If your student needs to reach you, they may use the school office phone, and our staff will help them do that. 👤 A note on older students Students in grades 6-8 may not leave campus without permission from a parent or guardian. If your student will walk or bike home, please contact the school office so we have it on record. Students in grades 9-12 who are not participating in a school-sponsored after-school activity should gather in the Collaboratory, under the front entry awning, or at the picnic tables in front of the gymnasium. Thank you for helping us keep these afternoon hours safe and well-supervised for every student. If you have questions about Play Club rates or sign-out, the school office is glad to help. |
We are looking for adults and college students to join our Play Club staff. If you know of anyone who might resonate with our school culture, and is available during the afternoons, please have them email Cailin Davison, or fill out our online application for Wrap Around Care. |
We’re so excited to see everyone at Meet the Teacher on Monday, August 3, and can hardly believe the new school year begins next week! This summer has been one of reflection and gratitude for our staff, and we’re looking ahead with expectation for all that this year will bring. Until we see you, know we’re praying over each TRS family—trusting in God’s provision and care for every one of you. We’ll see you soon! |
