There are seasons when our spiritual practices begin to feel unusually quiet.🌹
Beloved,
This week, during a Governing Heart™ session, a beautiful realization emerged.
Without sharing any personal details, the conversation revealed something I believe many of us experience.
There are seasons when our spiritual practices begin to feel unusually quiet.
The journal remains closed.
Scripture sits unread.
Prayer feels less like conversation and more like silence.
Many people assume this means they have become distant from God.
Yet what if the silence means something entirely different?
What if God has not become quiet…
What if S|He has already spoken?
Sometimes we continue searching for another answer because the first one requires us to let go.
Not because we lack faith.
But because obedience | devotion often asks us to release something our identity has quietly become attached to.
A role.
A responsibility.
A relationship.
A familiar way of being needed.
A false assumption.
In this particular session, the invitation became unmistakably clear.
Someone recognized they had been carrying responsibilities that no longer belonged to them.
They had lovingly taken responsibility for the growth of others.
Yet the deeper truth gently emerged:
When we continue carrying what belongs to someone else’s journey, we can unknowingly interfere with the sacred work God desires to accomplish within them.
This realization wasn’t about becoming less loving.
It was about becoming more trusting.
Because love does not always carry.
Sometimes love releases.
The most beautiful shift happened next.
What first appeared to be loss slowly revealed itself as holy space.
The quiet was no longer interpreted as emptiness.
It became preparation.
A sanctuary.
A place where the nervous system could finally soften…
where the heart could exhale…
and where new life had room to be recognized.
One sentence seemed to organize the entire session:
God has never left your home. What changes is not His presence, but your capacity to receive what He has been preparing.
I have found this to be true in nearly every area of life.
Health.
Relationships.
Purpose.
Provision.
Peace.
Often the transformation is not that God suddenly arrives.
It is that our open hands finally make room to receive what has been patiently waiting.
This is one of the deepest invitations of The Governing Heart™.
The heart does not govern by striving.
It governs by becoming spacious enough that nothing within us needs to cling, control, rescue, or perform.
From that place, coherence naturally emerges.
And when coherence emerges…
life begins organizing around what love no longer needs to force.
Reflection for Your Week
Take a few quiet moments with these questions:
- What has God already made clear that I continue asking Him to repeat?
- What responsibility have I been carrying that belongs to someone else’s journey?
- What identity would I have to release if I stopped being needed?
- Where might spaciousness be the doorway through which God is inviting me to receive?
- If I trusted that obedience is preparation rather than punishment, what would I choose today?
If these questions stir something within you, perhaps this is your season—not to gather more information—but to gently return to your own heart.
The Governing Heart™ sessions are not about fixing you.
They are about creating a coherent space where your body, mind, heart, and spirit can recognize what has always been true.
Together, we listen for what life is already revealing.
Together, we create the conditions where wisdom becomes embodied rather than simply understood.
If you feel called to explore your own next threshold, I would be honored to walk beside you.
