Hello Beautiful Humans!
Community is on a lot of people's minds this time of year. When we are creating and growing a community, we are asking people to take a risk. Risk being seen. Risk their time and energy.
Getting people in a room isn't enough. Holding the intention for a group to become a community is a start. And there is more. A real community exists only when each person makes their own internal sign off, "yup, I'm in."
That sign off is internal, but it isn't made in isolation. People are watching, listening, and weighing what they see and hear before they decide. They need to understand what the community is about, and you need to keep describing it, not just once, but regularly, so the "why" stays strong over time. Every person is deciding: Is this worth it? Am I staying in?
Clarity is what makes the risk feel safe. When people know what it means to be in this community, and how to show up in it, they're far more likely to take the risk.
A Next Step
Think of a community you are creating, nurturing, or refueling right now. What might be some things people need to know to risk themselves AND reap the benefits?
