Howzit! For decades, travel has been reserved for life's traditional milestones - the honeymoon, the anniversary, the big birthday, the once-in-a-lifetime celebration. Now, we are seeing those milestones evolve with new reasons to pack a suitcase…the mini-moon, the vow renewal, or the sabbatical between chapters. Alongside them, another shift entirely: the rise of the just because trip. More couples are choosing to travel without waiting for an occasion on the calendar - carving out time to reconnect, explore somewhere new, or learn a new skill together. We are seeing the same with solo travelers, who are planning trips around transition, curiosity, or the impulse to step outside what feels familiar. The Sommelier side of what we do is understanding the nuances, preferences, and personalities behind the travels, then pairing them with the places that bring the experience to life. Sometimes that journey celebrates a milestone, other times it becomes one. No occasion required - just the right place, at exactly the right time. Cheers! Darren & the Somms |

Some of the best trips are the ones that happen in between. The mini-moon was born from that space - a shorter, more intentional escape designed not to replace the honeymoon, but to complement it. A few days to decompress and enjoy the moment. Our Brand Marketing Specialist, Ariana, embraced exactly that after her destination wedding in Corfu, Greece. Rather than rolling straight into the multi-week honeymoon she and her husband have planned for later, they slipped away for a few quiet nights on nearby Paxos…a small Ionian island that feels worlds away from the pace of the more familiar Greek hotspots. The kind of destination you visit for emerald coves only reachable by boat, centuries-old olive groves, tiny harbors where fishing boats still outnumber yachts, and family-run tavernas that reward slowing down. Days unfold without a schedule…swimming in impossibly clear water, exploring hidden sea caves with a local captain, and lingering over long lunches overlooking the sea. The beauty of the mini-moon is that it is not defined by tradition. It can be a long weekend nearby following a destination wedding, a few restorative days before heading home, or a quick nonstop flight to Europe or Central America while you save the honeymoon for later. Like so many of our favorite experiences, it is less about the occasion and more about the feeling you are hoping to take home with you. |

More couples are moving beyond traditional anniversary gifts and choosing to honor the life they have built together through travel, often with a vow renewal in a place that feels deeply personal. Whether you have shared 10 years, 25 years, or 50, it is a chance to mark the adventures, challenges, quiet moments, and everything in between that has brought you here. Envision exchanging vows on a glacier accessible only by helicopter. Beneath a canopy of stars. On a private island with no one else around. Or aboard a yacht at sea with only the horizon ahead. Sometimes, the destination is the chapel. One made of stone and hidden in the Scottish Highlands, or a tiny church tucked away on a Norwegian island. We keep a global black book and are happy to unlock some of the world’s most beautiful, atmospheric, wonderfully unexpected places to do it. It can be as intimate, adventurous or remote as you want. A few ideas we love: Skip the guest list → Charter a yacht Trade the aisle → For a private island Not at sunset → By lantern in the Moroccan desert No venue → Just you and a private glacier in New Zealand Keep it classic → Find a chapel worth traveling for You do not need an excuse to travel - but celebrating your story, in your own way, is a special one. |

Destinations Just For You |

Some journeys are shaped by the people you share them with, others are about the person you return as. A trip for yourself creates space for whatever comes next - a new chapter, a long-awaited sabbatical, or simply time to slow down. An invitation to explore somewhere unfamiliar, embrace curiosity, and experience the world on your own terms. Whether you are stepping away after building something meaningful, celebrating a personal achievement, or craving time to think, travel has a way of offering perspective. If you are wondering where to begin, these are a few destinations our team continues to return to: + Guatemala - ancient cities, volcanic landscapes, and a slower rhythm that invites reflection. + The Balkans - wild coastlines, hidden villages, and a side of Europe few travelers take the time to explore. + The Stans - Silk Road cities, textile markets, dramatic landscapes, and cultures that feel beautifully removed from the familiar. + Botswana - private safaris, untouched wilderness, and some of Africa's most extraordinary encounters. Wherever your plans take you, we will take care of every detail - from designing the right itinerary to anticipating the moments in between. Our team is with you before, during, and after your travels, allowing you to be fully present for the experience. |
