Good morning!! I bet you thought you wouldn't hear from me today! Well, I'm actually writing a few things ahead of time and scheduling it to send to you Sunday (which is now, for you!)
Today I'm traveling back from NYC with the family (early flight too so I'll likely be sitting at the gate or in the air as you're reading this haha!)
I'm a Broadway buff and my all-time favorite show has always been Les Miserables. It's not on Broadway anymore but they brought it back to NY to Radio City Music Hall for a short time and I got tickets for Christmas!! (thanks entirely to Baby Girl who found out about the special showing and made it happen for me).
I need to take a moment to thank my high school chorus teacher, Donna Franklin Goodwin, for her dedication to teaching generations of rural Southern kids about the magic of Broadway. She would arrange a trip almost every year for us to go (complete with a ton of fundraising efforts). She taught us the music of the great through-composed musicals and because of her, I discovered something that has brought me so much pure joy for decades. Thank you, Mrs. Franklin, you have a special place in so many hearts.
I'm just going to drop a few quick-bread recipes below I've been thinking about lately! I'll catch up better next week, I promise!
