Support for pet owners. Better lives for cats

💛 Thank You for Sharing & Following
This is our second edition of the Surrey Cats newsletter — and we’re so grateful to everyone who has forwarded it to friends and family, shared our posts, and followed us on social media. Our community is growing fast! Every new supporter means more cats helped, more families supported, and more kindness spreading across Surrey.
🌟 July Matching Campaign — You Made Magic!

Thanks to you, we raised $9,050 in July — and the Towhill Foundation is matching every dollar. That’s $18,100 going directly toward ending suffering for Surrey’s cats and helping them stay in their homes with the people who love them, instead of entering shelters.
Your support keeps cats safe, fed, and cared for. We can’t thank you enough.

🐱 A Friendship That Saved Them Both
April says:
“My boy Nicklaus came into our lives by chance.
He was born in August 2025, and he showed up right when we needed him most.”

“My pup Keli was so lonely after his sister moved out. He stopped eating and seemed depressed. He needed a friend.”

The Moment Everything Changed
A friend had just had kittens and offered one to me. From the moment Nicklaus arrived, the boys became inseparable. Keli and Nicklaus became best friends right away. They’ve been side‑by‑side ever since. I’m low‑income, and Surrey Cats helped me get Nicklaus neutered and gave him his shots. Thank you for helping my boy stay healthy — and for making sure we don’t have any unwanted kittens.
🐾 Share Your Story With Us!
If Surrey Cats has helped you, we’d love to hear your story 😺. Your experiences encourage others who are struggling, and your updates help us show the community how much these cats mean to the people who care for them. Even a few sentences — or a photo — makes a big difference.

😿 Flea Season Warning
We’ve had several kittens come in infested with fleas — tiny bodies covered, weak, and struggling.

Please check your cats regularly, especially
outdoor cats or cats living in multi‑cat homes.
Fleas aren’t “just a nuisance.”

They can kill a kitten

Fleas cause severe anemia, and without treatment, young kittens can fade quickly.

Cats fixed: 20 = 4,000 kittens not born into danger or hunger
August spots stayed open for 90 minutes on the 1st — three times longer than last month — thanks to this month’s increase in donations.
We were able to offer more spaces, but the need is still much bigger than we can meet. After the 1st, we have to close spots again until next month. If you know someone who wants a reminder when spots open, make sure they join our mailing list 🐾.
