Welcome to the August edition of The Capital.

This month, we're looking back at one of our most important gatherings of the year while looking ahead to what's next.

Inside this issue, we're sharing highlights from our World Cup-inspired activation HER Texas House, introducing founder Shampaigne Graves, spotlighting two spaces making an impact in North Texas and giving you a first look at what's coming this October as Fork and Femme, our statewide celebration of woman-owned businesses, returns with our biggest goal yet.

You'll also find upcoming events you won't want to miss.

Thank you sincerely for being a part of this growing community.

INSIDE HER TEXAS HOUSE
A new chapter for HER Texas
For four days in July, founders, business owners, community leaders and partners gathered in Dallas, Texas for the inaugural HER Texas House. Inspired by the opportunities major global events like the FIFA World Cup create for host cities, HER Texas House was created to celebrate the collective power of women's voices, relationships and spending power during some of Texas' biggest moments.

Throughout the week, attendees explored the Texas Marketplace featuring woman-owned businesses from across the state, connected during daily Morning Socials and gathered inside the Global Salon, presented by Party Geenius, for conversations on leadership, entrepreneurship, AI, funding, personal branding, wellness and the future of women in business.

The experience brought together an incredible group of speakers, including DJ KICKIT, Bianca Davis, Cecilia Rios Murrieta, Joshlyn Ross, Marty Martinez, Christen Lockett, Amanda and Kiel Jared and many more who shared their experiences and perspectives throughout the week.

From morning Pilates classes and founder breakfasts to evening happy hours at Marca Brava Spirits, HER Texas House created space for new relationships, thoughtful conversations, and the kind of introductions that often lead to future opportunities.

Thank you to every attendee, speaker, sponsor, marketplace featured business, volunteer and community partner who helped bring our inaugural HER Texas House to life.

Business Education Wasn't Working for Women. So She Rebuilt It.
Meet Shampaigne Graves (Sponsored Spotlight)

Image item

Eight years ago, Shampaigne Graves invested her last $20 into a Facebook ad.

Today, that idea has evolved into BOLDIFI®, an accredited, audio-first microschool designed to make entrepreneurship more accessible for women with limited time and resources. We sat down with Shampaigne to talk about the evolution of BOLDIFI, why traditional business education misses so many women, and what's next for the growing platform.

IN THE COMMUNITY
Each month, we're shining a light on businesses, spaces, and organizations helping strengthen communities across Texas.
Founded by husband-and-wife team Amanda Mecsey-Jared and Kiel Jared, Oak Cliff Pilates has grown from a single studio in the heart of Oak Cliff to three locations across Dallas, all while building a loyal community that extends well beyond the reformer.

That sense of community was on full display at their recent five-year anniversary celebration, where clients, friends and supporters gathered to celebrate the milestone. Congratulations to Amanda, Kiel and the entire Oak Cliff Pilates team on five years of helping people move, connect, and feel their best.

Curious about trying Pilates? Now is a great time. Explore one of their upcoming classes and take advantage of their introductory offers for new clients.

Welcome to Texas, KILN!

KILN recently opened its first Texas location, bringing its community-focused coworking model to Dallas. Designed for entrepreneurs, startups, remote professionals and growing teams, KILN is more than a place to work, it's a space intentionally built to foster connection, collaboration, and creativity.

Last month, the HER Texas community had the opportunity to spend the day coworking at KILN, tour the space and connect with fellow founders and business leaders. From thoughtfully designed meeting spaces to inviting common areas, it's easy to see why KILN is quickly becoming a gathering place for North Texas' entrepreneurial community.

FORK AND FEMME IS BACK THIS FALL
Image item

One of our favorite times of the year is almost here!

This October, Fork and Femme returns as communities across Texas come together to shop, support and hire from woman-owned businesses. Since launching in 2023, our community has spent more than $360,000 with woman-owned businesses and this fall, we're aiming even higher with a statewide goal of $250,000.

Whether you're a business owner, future community host, sponsor or someone who simply wants to spend with intention, there are plenty of ways to get involved.

Add your business and you get discovered in the official Fork and Femme Guide. host a community event in your city and of course, mark your calendar for Fork and Femme Day on Wednesday, October 21. Stay tuned as we announce community events and more in the weeks ahead.
