Happy Sunday Everyone! This week I want to talk about being psychic. So many people believe that being psychic and/or a medium makes a person special. I am here to tell you all no one NEEDS to see a psychic because believe it or not everyone is born with intuition. They just may not recognize it as that.

 

That inner voice you hear that tells you not to do something or encourages you to do something is your intuition. That gut feeling that tells you that a person or situation is not good or maybe it tells you it is good is intuition.

 

I am a Psychic/Medium and I would rather teach people about their own intuition and teach them how to trust it then have people keep coming to me for a reading. This is why I no longer offer readings, but spiritual counseling. 

 

Readings for many can be a fun evening out, however there are so many what I call “carnival psychics” out there you do need to be careful of. Some people who call themselves psychic have learned to read body language. This could include a subtle movement like an eyebrow raising if a medium says I sense a male around you, its a brother, father, grandfather and they will keep rattling off until they see a physical response, one local medium has perfected this technique and it is referred to as a cold reading.

 

So, how can you know if someone is the real thing? A genuine psychic or medium will be able to give facts that they have no way of knowing, how someone passed, what their personality was like, a common saying they used, etc etc. Cold readers will fish until they get a physical response.

 

If going to one check their references. Do they have a code of ethics? What is their accuracy? Do your homework because readings can back fire, especially if the psychic does not have any ethics.

 

One of my ethics is that I will not read anyone without their permission. Another code of ethics I have when I was doing gallery readings was I never ever outed someone's personal business in the group. For example, I did a group reading in a home many years ago and one person there had issues with addictions to prescription drugs, their mom came through asking me to help. I did not reveal this in the group, I took the person aside privately and talked to them. I let them know the message I got from their mom and gave proof it was their mom.

I also gave this person my number letting them know I was a recovered alcoholic and drug addict. Thankfully this person is now clean due to their own hard work and understanding. This person also thanked me for not revealing that in the group for no one knew.

 

If you go to a gallery reading the psychic or psychic medium outs you in the group I would seriously question their ethics and intentions. An ego based person will make it all about them, see me, see how special I am. Where a heart based person will always put the people they are reading first.

 

Know the energy of the person you are seeing and trust what you feel and sense. One local psychic medium has ruined many people's lives by outing them in gallery readings. Two examples I personally know of was one woman was in the audience and this psychic outed her drinking problem. Now here is the issue, this woman cleaned houses for a living and some of her clients were also in the audience, guess who lost jobs because of this? That psychic had no right to do this.

 

Another woman had traumatic abuse within her family and this psychic/medium again outed this in the group. The woman was traumatized, embarrassed and felt judged by this person even though they were the victim of the abuse. Some of her family members were there as well and they literally removed themselves from this woman, why? Because the psychic/medium told her in the group that she is the one causing discord in the family.

 

Why am I writing this article? Because I had yet another woman come to me after seeing this person regarding the death of her daughter. The psychic/medium traumatized her by telling her it was her fault, that she was not a good person or mother. Which was furthest from the truth. 

 

So, whether you find carnival psychics entertaining or not please be careful. If a psychic or medium does not have ethics it can be a very negative and damaging experience. But here is the rub - everything you need to know and live is already inside of you. You just need to learn how to tape into it and trust it, you do not need a psychic or medium. Now you may not be able to hear a spirit, but I am willing to bet you can feel them around you and feel their energy, which can tell you a lot.

 

Trust your intuition and empower yourself to live your best life. But if you do feel the need to go to someone check their credentials. If you go to a gallery reading and someone starts saying things you do not want out in a group stand up and tell them to stop. If they do not walk out.

 

I personally stopped doing gallery readings because I do not find them fulfilling. Instead I prefer one on one sessions for spiritual counseling and help people by using my intuition to empower their lives.
