I had a thought: What if my Wicked Plant Art became characters in the Major Arcana tarot deck? So naturally, I went down that rabbit hole a few weekends ago and emerged with a complete set of 22 cards.

 

I am learning to “fail faster,” which means turning an idea into something tangible before I have time to overthink it. Before logging off for the weekend, I uploaded the deck to MakePlayingCards.com and ordered a print-on-demand sample.

 

It is fun to see this experiment come to life. Because each deck costs about $40 to produce, I may not offer them for sale. But you can learn more about this little experiment on my website here.  

Inspiration Everywhere

Once a child’s plaything, Robert the Doll is now considered Key West’s most cursed object. Visitors are warned to treat him with respect or risk being blamed for whatever misfortune follows. Here is the strange story behind one of the world’s most infamous haunted dolls. 👻

 

From his studio in Maine, one of the last full-time ventriloquist puppet makers in the country combines mechanics, painting, and performance to create one-of-a-kind characters.🪆

 

Just a two-hour boat ride from Mexico City you’ll find the Island of the Dolls, where thousands of dolls haunt the forest. With no electricity, or running water, the island attracts curious tourists and ghost hunters alike. Creepy, fascinating, or a little of both? 🌲

I found this deer skull tucked away in an oddities shop in South Dakota a few weeks ago. Before my next update, I’ll transform it into an assemblage inspired by my Wicked Plant Art collection. If you’d like to see what it becomes and to be notified when it is complete, click on the button below. 🦴
