A Message from Mayor Geoff Seymour As August moves along and we begin to see another summer winding down, I hope everyone has had an opportunity to enjoy the season here in Bay Roberts. It has been a busy few months across our community, with festivals, concerts, recreation programs, community events, and plenty of opportunities to get outdoors and enjoy everything our town has to offer. I want to thank the many volunteers, community organizations, local businesses, Town staff, and residents who have contributed to making this summer such a successful one. Whether you organized an event, volunteered your time, welcomed visitors, or simply came out and participated, your involvement continues to make Bay Roberts a vibrant and welcoming community. As September approaches, many families are also preparing for the return to school. With students once again walking, cycling, and travelling by bus, I encourage motorists to be particularly cautious. Please slow down in school zones and residential areas, watch carefully at intersections and crosswalks, and be prepared for school buses making frequent stops. Parents and guardians can also take some time to remind children about crossing streets safely, staying visible, and being aware of traffic on their way to and from school. There is still plenty of summer left to enjoy, and I encourage residents to continue making use of our parks, trails, recreation facilities, and community spaces. As always, please help us keep these areas clean and welcoming by disposing of waste properly and respecting the spaces we all share. August is also a good time to enjoy the simple things that make summer in Bay Roberts special, whether that means a walk along the shoreline, an evening in the garden, a visit to one of our local businesses, or time spent with family, friends, and neighbours. On behalf of Bay Roberts Town Council, I wish our students, families, teachers, and school staff a safe and successful start to the new school year, and I hope everyone enjoys these final weeks of summer. Mayor Geoff Seymour Town of Bay Roberts |

The Water Street Phase 2 Infrastructure Project is ongoing. The Town of Bay Roberts would like to advise residents that construction for the Water Street Phase 2 project is ongoing. Work in the area between Barracks Road and the Conception Bay Highway will include the installation of a new water line and storm sewer system. As part of this work, Water Street will be closed between Roach Place and Barracks Road during construction hours. Water Street will remain open to local traffic only, with access maintained for residents. Detour routes are clearly marked via Conception Bay Highway and Barracks Road, with an alternate route available via George Mercer Drive and Klondyke Causeway. Residents and motorists should be prepared for increased construction activity, traffic delays, and temporary disruptions in the area while work is underway. Additional information regarding detours, road closures, and traffic impacts will be shared as construction progresses on social media and Voyent Alert! The Town appreciates the public's patience and cooperation as these important infrastructure upgrades are completed. |
