Born and raised in Texas, Tessa has over 20 years of dance experience. She grew up performing competitively and pre-professionally in the DFW area. She has extensive training in ballet, tap, jazz, jazz funk, lyrical, contemporary, hip hop, musical theatre and pom.

 

She had the privilege of dancing professionally for the NHL with the Dallas Stars Ice Girls for six seasons where she served two seasons as a Captain. She has appeared on ESPN, Bally Sports Southwest, Good Morning Texas, Good Day Fox Four and News 8 Day Break.

 

Tessa recently had the honor of Directing, Coaching and Choreographing a dance team in the IFL. She currently teaches dance competitively and recreationally to ages five to seventeen in the Carollton and Frisco, TX areas. With a huge passion for teaching and mentoring, Tessa loves to help any age accomplish their professional dance goals! 

And just like that, we’re here! Our first full week of dance in DCJ’s Golden Anniversary season! As we celebrate 50 years, keep your eyes peeled for little pops of gold throughout the studios, this week and all year long. Our teachers are still getting to know their kiddos, and we are still making a few small adjustments as we settle into the season, so be sure to keep an eye on your emails for new class opportunities or slight schedule changes that might be a great fit for your dancer.

 

We also have something extra exciting happening tonight! Our Junior DCC dancers are headed to their first event of the season, Meet the Team, where the official Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders will be announced. We are especially excited to cheer on our own Miss Jenna and Miss Darah, who will be performing, with Miss Jenna also signing the National Anthem in ASL! What a fun way to kick off the year and such a special experience for our Junior DCC dancers.

 

Finally, we know this is a big week for our kids. For many of them, this is their first full week of school, dance, homework, activities, earlier mornings, and later nights all at once. We promise to pack a little extra patience, grace, love, and FUN for them this week as everyone gets back into the swing of a full schedule. We know there may be some tired kiddos walking through our doors, and we are so happy to be one of the places they get to come each week.
