Hi First name / fellow traveler,
Travel is wonderful, but it's also unpredictable.

As much as we love travel, you and I know that even the best‑planned trips don't always work out perfectly.

Think about your last trip. Did everything go exactly as planned?

How many times have you been stuck at an airport? (CLT, I'm looking at you!)

Booked a last‑minute hotel room because of a delay or cancellation?

Had luggage take its own vacation adventure without you?

Broken-down transportation?

A tropical storm?

An unavailable rental car (anyone can take a reservation)?

A sick kid?

We had a close call this week. My 18-year-old son was flying through DFW, and his first flight kept getting delayed. The airline said they'd hold the connection, but I wasn't convinced.

The idea of him getting stuck overnight was harder to digest than a late-night order of fully loaded nachos.

Knowing we had travel insurance helped me feel a little better, like a Pepcid after a big plate of nachos. (hungry yet?)

In my various travel groups, people share stories all the time about how insurance saved their trip, their budget, or their sanity. From medical emergencies abroad to missed nights at a resort to lost luggage, there's a lot that travelers don't realize they're protected from.

Travel can be as unpredictable as a plate of nachos — sometimes it hits the spot, and other times it has you rethinking your choice for days. :)

That’s exactly why I wrote this article: to help you protect your time, money, and health. And yes, the conclusion to my son’s late‑night‑nacho‑level DFW drama is included.
If you're not clicking through right now but fully intend to later, here's a little travel insurance summary to keep you covered in the meantime.

But really, you'll want to read the full article. :)

Travel insurance protects your time, money, and health. It can help with cancellations, interruptions, medical emergencies, evacuation, baggage issues, and delays.

Annual plans can save money if you travel more than twice a year, especially for families.

Customer service matters. Many travelers say their insurance company walked them through stressful situations step by step.

Medical coverage abroad is essential. Your regular health insurance often doesn't work outside the country.

Pre‑existing condition rules vary. Some plans cover them, some don't. Annual plans often have different rules than single‑trip plans.

Airline or hotel insurance is usually limited. It often covers airfare only, not medical care or lost hotel nights.

Delays and interruptions happen more than you think. Insurance can reimburse lost nights, meals, hotels, and rebooking fees.

Baggage delays have minimum time requirements. Many plans require a 12‑hour delay before coverage kicks in.

Weather‑related cancellations are covered when the event is unexpected and shuts down travel.

Medical evacuation can be extremely expensive. Insurance can arrange and cover transportation to proper care or back home.

Choosing the right plan depends on your trip. A travel advisor can help you compare options at no extra cost.
