CHECK-IN | WEEK 1 | PAPER |
How's it going with the first prompt? Has an idea settled in or are there different ones swirling around? For some extra inspiration for the rest of the week, here's a large scale collage, a song 3 ways, and some snapshots of what our fellow creatives have been making! |
Here are Lidia's warm-up markings and collage pieces. This week Lidia decided not to create anything new, but to search her resources to see what would also fit and what no one else has seen yet. (I love this idea and think we should all do this from time to time!) Both collages were made from local government election flyers, but Lidia thinks both works transcend any territorial boundaries--I agree. |
The title of Lidia's 2 collages (second on the bottom left) is Talking Heads, a reference to Krzysztof Kieślowski's 1980 film of the same name. In the 15 minutes film, Krzysztof asks Poles of various ages who they are and what they want in life. I really enjoyed it and agree with Lidia that it's an important watch--you can view it here. And on the bottom right is my work in progress. |
I was planning on making a torn paper collage then I got another idea that has to do with landing somewhere…I'm going to try to explore both! :) Enjoy the rest of the week and see you in your inbox Sunday for our next prompt! |
