🌙 Assalamualaikum Al-Falah Academy Families!!
Welcome back to another exciting year at Al-Falah Weekend Islamic School!
Two years ago, when I took on the role of Principal, we began our year by focusing on the 99 Names of Allah (swt). We connected that learning to service projects, giving our students opportunities to put their learning into action and serve others.
Last year, we continued that journey by focusing on the Hadith and Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. Our students explored his words, his actions, his character, and the ways his example can guide us in our everyday lives. This year, we are bringing those lessons together.
🌟 This Year: Legends of Faith
We will turn our attention to some of the greatest role models in the history of our faith: the Companions of the Prophet ﷺ; the men and women whose lives demonstrated extraordinary faith, leadership, strength, courage, ihsan, generosity, sacrifice, perseverance, and devotion to Allah (swt). These are the Legends of Faith.
Their stories are not simply stories from the past. They are stories of ordinary people who made extraordinary choices because of their faith. They faced challenges, stood for what was right, served their communities, gave generously, demonstrated courage, pursued knowledge, and remained committed to Allah (swt) and His Messenger ﷺ.
Our hope is that our students will learn more than the names and stories of these remarkable individuals. We want them to discover the qualities that made them legends and begin to recognize those same qualities within themselves.
What does courage look like in a child?
What does generosity look like in our school community?
What does leadership look like when no one is watching?
What does ihsan look like in the classroom, at home, and with our friends?
These are the questions we want our students to explore throughout the year.

This is the first principal's newsletter for the 2026-27 school year. We'd like you to please continue to read through the principal emails in their entirety as new information will always be shared each week.
💻Alma Parent Portal
Al-Falah Academy will continue to use Alma as our student information system. Setup of a parent Alma account is required.
On Friday, August 21st and every Friday leading up to the first day of school, Alma account activation emails will be sent to the following:
- All new parents (this account setup is different from the AlmaStart account that was used to register)
- Returning parents who never activated their parent account
If you do not see this email in your Inbox, check your Junk/Spam folder. Please follow the instructions in this email to set up your account. An account is required to view important information and perform actions such as:
- view/pay tuition invoices
- re-register students
- view standards, curriculum, homework, school calendar, etc.
- email teachers
Once your account is activated, you can get the
Alma app and view the
Alma study guide to watch the Parent Portal Overview.
Tuition Payments A parent Alma account is required to pay your tuition balance in full or to set up an automatic monthly payment plan.
Tuition invoices will be emailed on Friday, August 28th and instructions on how to pay will be provided in next week's Principal's email (8/27). As a reminder, please see below regarding our payment policy:
- Full tuition payment or setup of an autopay plan for the full tuition amount is due by Sept 11, 2026.
- If full tuition payment or setup of an autopay plan for the full tuition amount is not completed before Sept 12, 2026, the student’s registration will be canceled, their spot may be released to another student, and the registration fee will be non-refundable. Please note: Students will not be permitted to attend classes until payment arrangements have been finalized.
- If a family chooses to re-register after withdrawal, the student may be placed on a waitlist if the grade level is at capacity and may also be required to submit a second registration fee.

📚Curriculum Day: Saturday, October 17th, 10:20-11:20am (Fischer Large Gym)

- 📧Principal Email: Each Thursday you will receive an email from the Principal, outlining important logistical information, events, and/or deadlines for the safety and success of your child(ren). Within this email you will also find email addresses to reach our administrators and a link to our “Parent Linktree," contents detailed below.
- 🌐Al-Falah Website: We update our website weekly, posting relevant flyers and last week’s email on our home page. http://icnschool.org/
- 🔗Parent Linktree: This link is a ‘one-stop’ page for important parent links! Our website, absence/late arrival/early dismissal forms, Alma Login page, Class Schedule, Drop off/Pick Up Procedures and so much more!!
- 💻Alma: This is the school's information platform for teacher-student-parent communication, grading & sharing lesson plans, and communication of community & school-wide events.
