September in DC means the city is exhaling and inhaling at the same time. The tourists thin out, the kids are back to school, and everyone who spent August somewhere else starts trickling back in with that "okay, back to it" energy. I'm right there with you.
I spent most of last month in Florida with my mom. Halfway through, I packed up my cat Obie and brought him down to join us. Having him here has made this hard stretch feel a little more like home, and Obie appreciates the additional cuddles. On the work side, I helped two different clients put together winning offers on homes in a genuinely tough Northern Virginia market in addition to moving other deals along. If you've been watching NoVA listings get multiple offers within days, you know exactly what I mean, and I'd love to talk strategy if that's a market you're facing.

This Smithsonian American Art Museum show opens as part of the 250th anniversary programming. 225 photographs uniting (for the first time) four regional survey projects the National Endowment for the Arts commissioned for the 1976 Bicentennial. Free.
September 19, 12-7PM H Street Festival H Street NE's mile-long block party — live music, global food, local makers, filling the corridor for a full day of community celebration. Free.
September 26-27, 11AM-7PM Fiesta DC The nation's largest Latino festival on Pennsylvania Ave NW, with Brazil as this year's Country of Honor — parade, dance troupes, serious street food. Free.
