Y'all have shown this room so much love since we debuted this home, and we are so grateful. This project was special to us- longtime clients that we adore, who are adventurous in spirit and love to incorporate color into their home. This fresh, playful take on mid-century design was so much fun to create. A mudroom or drop zone is an important space for families (hello allll the backpacks, coats, shoes, and more!), and a room that we pass through countless times per day. For us, giving this room lots of love and attention in the design was a given, because we know these are as are such an important part of family life. It's the perfect place to provide a little bit of extra joy, along with super functional storage.
A Deep Blue Family Room
From conception to final finish, the heart and soul of this room was about family. Designed to accommodate our clients and their grown kids and grandkids, it was essential for this house to have additional living spaces that would be comfortable during family visits. This den features a deep teal blue wall color and inset wood ceiling, making it feel spacious while cozy at the same time. This room has a lot of features we love, including super soft inset carpet, large sectional fit for a full family movie night, and a hidden ensuite bathroom. You can find it on our portfolio now, and on the CFD blog soon.
The Reader's Loft
If you've followed us for a bit, you know we've got lots of love (and endless creativity) for designing those oft-forgotten (and usually tricky) “transitional” spaces- mudrooms, entryways, anterooms, landings, hallways, and more. These are some of our absolute favorite transformations to create for clients. This 2nd floor landing/loft area was just such a space- so much potential, but with many nooks and crannies, a high window, angled ceiling, and a stairway smack dab in the middle. It was an opportunity to flex the design muscle and create something truly unique. For these book lovers, wrap-around custom built-in bookshelves that framed the window and created dedicated areas for reading, working/studying, and relaxing made it a cohesive, elegant, and incredibly useable space that adds to their home.
We have loved seeing many long-time clients returning to us this year, ready to tackle new areas of their home or wanting to start a brand new project. We value our relationship with clients so much, and it's so exciting to create new things together. We are currently booking projects into the fall, and excited to bring in several new clients to the CFD fam. Thank you to all of you for entrusting us with your home, and allowing us to create alongside you. We couldn't do what we do without such incredible clients.
September will bring lots of exciting things- many projects moving forward, new clients joining us, A PHOTOSHOOT!, and getting prepared for Fall High Point Market. Thank you for being here and part of our CFD family. You can always reach us by responding to this email, or at hello@catfrenchdesign.com. We LOVE hearing from you.
See you soon, friends! <3
