Over the summer, Project Vigilant has been taking place across Coventry City Centre.
West Midlands Police have used both plain clothes and uniformed police officers, along with Coventry City Council CCTV Operators, our BID officers, and Steet Pastors to keep people safe during the darker hours.
Project Vigilant is part of a national initiative, designed to proactively prevent and pursue predatory behaviour towards women and girls within public spaces including bars, clubs, and night-time venues.
As part of the project, we also completed several unannounced tests of licensed venues testing their responsiveness to the 'Ask for Angela' campaign and safety protocols to protect those most at risk from harm.
