This summer brought a significant legal victory. A federal court ruled that Alabama's nitrogen method was unconstitutional, causing severe pain that crosses the line into cruelty. That ruling was fueled by prayer, perseverance, and purpose. But our fight is not over.

 

 

After losing on the method it chose, the state is trying to go back to lethal injection, the very method it once agreed to move away from. A jury voted to spare Jeffery's life. The law that put him on death row no longer exists. And now the state is going back on its own word. This is not justice. It is a system refusing to follow its own rules.

Here is how we fight for Jeffery right now:

 

Ask her to grant clemency. In 2018 the state gave Jeffery its word about how this would go, and now it is breaking that word. Tell her a state that won't keep its own promises has no business carrying out an execution, and that you oppose the execution of the 25 people still on death row whose juries were overruled. It takes one minute.
