| | | | | | | | | | | | Do you ever have one of those moments when you suddenly realize you've been writing the same book for years...without knowing it?
I have.
Oh, I wrote other books along the way, taught classes, worked with wonderful people, and kept asking questions that probably drove my guides to smile and say, "She's asking that again?" But every experience seemed to circle back to one simple idea.
There is a light within each of us.
I call it the Divine Spark.
Now before you picture someone floating six inches off the ground wearing a halo, that's not what I mean.
I think the Divine Spark is much more practical than that. It's the quiet voice that nudges you to be kinder than necessary. It's the feeling that tells you to call a friend because "something says I should." It's the unexpected idea that pops into your mind while you're washing dishes or walking the dog. It's that little whisper that says, "Keep going. You're not finished yet."
I've learned that our job isn't to create the light. The light is already there. Our job is simply to keep the lamp clean enough for it to shine.
That sounds easy... Until life happens. Someone hurts our feelings. We doubt ourselves. We watch the news for fifteen minutes. Suddenly our little lamp needs a good dusting.
I've discovered that I don't need complicated rituals to reconnect. Sometimes I sit quietly. Sometimes I write in my journal. Sometimes I play beautiful music. Sometimes I simply step outside, take a deep breath, and remember that the same breeze touching my face has touched mountains, oceans, forests, and people all over the world.
That has a way of putting things back into perspective. Over the years I've also become rather fond of asking myself two simple questions before acting on an intuitive feeling.
Is it harmless? Is it useful?
If the answer is yes to both, I usually pay attention. Not because I'm trying to be perfect. I've already ruled that out!
But because those two little questions have saved me from speaking too quickly, worrying unnecessarily, or chasing ideas that belonged in the recycling bin instead of my calendar.
I'm also a great believer in writing things down. Dreams. Funny coincidences. Intuitive nudges. Questions without answers.
Years later I'll open an old journal and think, "Well, that's interesting..."
Sometimes I discover I was wiser than I gave myself credit for. Other times I wonder, "What on earth was I thinking?" Both discoveries make me laugh. Maybe that's part of the journey too.
One thing I know for certain is that our soul never stops inviting us to grow.
Not by becoming someone else. But by becoming more fully ourselves.
Maybe that's what the Divine Spark has been trying to teach me all along. Simply to shine as the person I was created to be.
So today, if your own little light feels a bit dim, don't assume it's gone.
Perhaps it just needs a little fresh air. A little gratitude. A little quiet. A little laughter. And maybe someone to remind you that you've been carrying that light all along.
Keep it glowing. The world has enough darkness. It could use a little more of your light.
Lots of love, light and hugs, Nancy |

Orange feels like sunshine captured in a tiny bottle—a beautiful reminder of the divine spark that lives within each of us. There are times when life, worry, or simply being human can make that light feel dim, but dim is not the same as gone. Keeping the Light On is about tending that inner glow—remembering what brings us back to hope, joy, faith, and ourselves. Orange gently reminds us that even on cloudy days, the light is still there. Key Ingredients Orange peel oil
How to Use Orange Essential Oil:
Diffuse: Add a few drops to your diffuser and let the bright, cheerful aroma fill your space. It can be a lovely companion for morning prayer, journaling, creative time, or anytime you want to create a warm, uplifting atmosphere.
Inhale: Open the bottle and take a slow, gentle breath, or place a drop in your palms, rub them together, and inhale softly. As you breathe, imagine reconnecting with the warm light already living within you. Topical: Dilute with a carrier oil as appropriate and apply to the wrists, heart space, or feet. Orange can also be paired with another favorite Young Living oil to create a personal “keep the light on” anointing blend. Follow the current product label for topical directions and sun/UV precautions. Ritual idea: Sit near a sunny window or sit outside. Place a drop of Orange in your palms, inhale gently, and take three slow breaths. Imagine a small golden light glowing in the center of your heart. With each breath, picture that light becoming warmer and brighter—not because you are creating it, but because you are remembering it was there all along.
