Welcome back to Beyond the Tour, where twice a month you’ll get clear, practical enrollment strategies you can put to work this week.

Let's get started.

If You Do One Thing This Week:

👋 1. Move along your families.

Send a message to all of your newly enrolled families with an official handoff from the admission office to school professionals. It's helpful for them and for you to establish clarity around the relationship.

The email can look something like this:

Dear Families,

We have enjoyed working with you and bringing you to [Best School Ever]. At this point, it is time for you to transition from the admission office as your primary resource and join all other school families in connecting with department leaders for your school needs.

Wishing your children the very best year ahead,
Your Enrollment Team

Bonus Points: Mark your calendar to send this email ever year, say the first Friday of the school year.

Now onto this year's prospective families. Let's go.

2 Tips to DO MORE:

2. 🧩 Keep the little ones entertained.

Create a packet of word finds or coloring pages for young ones accompanying their parents who are visiting your school. Ideally, these fun-sheets should be branded with your school logo and images, or somehow connect back to your school.

You can adapt this concept for bigger kids - Sudoku, zen tangle coloring pages, larger word finds, etc.

This would be the perfect task to bring in some AI help to create these sheets.

Bottom line: You're keeping the kids occupied, and showcasing to parents how thoughtful you are.

Try it. Let me know how it goes.

3. 💭 Drive the conversation forward.

Tip for ambassadors (and for yourself): NEVER say "Let me know if you have any questions" in an email or voicemail to a prospective family.

Of course we do care about their questions, but that phrasing puts you in the back seat. If they don't have any specific questions, that's the end of the conversation.

You want to control the forward movement of the conversation and keep them interested and excited.

Train ambassadors - and yourself - to say, let me tell you why I love the school, and I'm so happy we are there... X, Y, Z.
Be specific.
Be compelling.
Then you can ask them "What is important to you?" Have them be specific. Then you can hit that volley back with a powerful comment about your school.
