Have you ever looked back over your life and realized that what seemed like random moments were quietly connected all along?

The older I get, the more I smile at those invisible threads.
One of them began when I was about ten years old.
I had a dream so vivid that it woke me in the middle of the night. Even today I can see it as clearly as if it happened yesterday.
I was sitting across from a woman. She wore a brown plaid tweed suit and spoke with a lovely British accent. Our chairs rested against the wall with just a little space between us. Hanging on that wall was an oval mirror surrounded by seashells.

She looked directly at me and said, "It's your turn to read."
I remember looking down at her lap, puzzled. She didn't have a book. I didn't have a book. So what exactly was I supposed to read?

That was in 1954.
Fast-forward to 1975.

A woman named Jane, who loved everything metaphysical, invited me to her home. One day she told me, "I have a wonderful psychic coming from England. Her name is Margaret Flavell Tweddell. I'm arranging her appointments. Would you like a reading?"
It would only be my second psychic reading.

Of course, I said yes.

When I walked into the room, Margaret and I sat facing one another with just a little space between us.
The reading was fascinating.

Among many things, she said she believed part of my life's purpose was to challenge outdated beliefs—not simply my own, but those that limit others as well.

Immediately, a memory came rushing back.
While attending Brooklyn College, I had applied to join a sorority. Three of us waited to be interviewed. When my interview ended, they happily told me I had been accepted.
"What about the other two young women?" I asked.
"Oh," they replied, "they're not our kind."
"What do you mean by 'our kind'?"

They explained that the other women simply didn't fit the image they wanted.
I looked at them and said, "Then I'm not joining."
They were stunned.
"Why not?"
"Because you're being unkind."
I walked out.

Two weeks later, the sorority closed.

As Margaret shared what she saw in my life, I couldn't help but think of moments like that—times when something deep inside simply wouldn't let me look the other way.
Then the reading ended.

I happened to glance toward the wall.
There it was.
An oval mirror...
Surrounded by seashells.
I couldn't help but smile.
Margaret laughed and said, "Now it's your turn to give me the reading."
I did.

And that began a friendship that has lasted through when she left this world.

Only years later did I discover that Margaret had been the medium for the book, “Witness From Beyond.” She had never mentioned it. I eventually found a copy and treasured it, not because of the book itself, but because it reminded me how beautifully connected our lives had become.

Margaret was more than a gifted psychic.
She was a connector.

After my reading, Jane mentioned that Margaret would be teaching a workshop. Naturally, I enrolled.
About twenty of us gathered that day.
As introductions began, one woman caught my attention for no particular reason.
At lunchtime she walked over and smiled.
"You know," she said, "I haven't met many other Nancys."
I laughed.
"Oh yes, you have."
She looked puzzled.
"I'll bet you met two in sixth grade. I’m Nancy Greenberg, and there was a Nancy Hellman..”
"There was a third," I said.
She stared at me.
"Who?"
"You're looking at her."

I had been Nancy Orlen then—my maiden name, long before either of my marriages. She had no way of knowing.
For a moment we simply stood there looking at one another.
Then we laughed.
Then we hugged.

Once again, another invisible thread had quietly tied two lives back together.

Moments like these have taught me something I could never have learned from a textbook.
Life is constantly introducing us to people for reasons we don't yet understand.
Some stay for years.
Some only cross our path for an afternoon.
Some become lifelong friends.
Some simply leave us with a lesson.
But every now and then, we're given a glimpse behind the curtain, and we realize that perhaps there really are unseen connections weaving through our lives.

Maybe that's one of the great adventures of being human—not knowing where the next thread will lead.

So here's a thought for you.

Has someone unexpectedly reappeared in your life years later?
Have you ever had a dream, a coincidence, or a chance meeting that made you stop and wonder?

I'd love to hear your story.

After all...
Perhaps we're all connectors in someone else's journey.
We just don't always know it yet.

Warmly,
Nancy

Present Time™. Essential Oil. Blend.

Soul Perspective

Some moments seem completely unrelated while we are living them. Only later do we look back and recognize the invisible thread that was quietly joining them together.

A conversation, a dream, a chance meeting, or a seemingly ordinary choice may not reveal its importance right away. Yet years later, another experience can suddenly illuminate the connection. What once appeared random becomes part of a much larger pattern.

Present Time beautifully complements this week’s exploration because the present moment is often where the dots finally meet. When we slow down and become fully aware of where we are, we may begin to see how earlier experiences, people, and intuitive nudges helped bring us here.

Its delicate, uplifting aroma can become a gentle reminder that we do not have to understand every event as it happens. Some meanings unfold slowly. Some connections remain unseen until we are ready to recognize them.

Perhaps the question is not always, “Why did this happen?” Maybe it is, “What can I see from where I am now that I could not see then?”

Key Ingredients

Sweet almond oil, Bitter orange flower oil, Black spruce leaf oil, Ylang ylang flower oil

How to Use
Present Time™ Essential Oil:

  • Diffuse: Diffuse Present Time™ while looking through old photographs, journaling, or reflecting on the experiences that helped shape your life. Allow the aroma to remind you that something that once seemed ordinary may have been part of a much larger unfolding.

  • Inhale: Gently inhale the aroma and bring your attention to where you are today. Ask yourself, “What can I understand from this moment that I could not see before?”

  • Topical: Apply according to current label directions, such as to the wrists or over the heart. Pause for a moment and imagine the people, choices, dreams, and unexpected turns of your life as points of light—all connected and leading you to where you are now.

  • Ritual idea: SPlace several dots on a journal page. Beside each one, write a person, experience, dream, decision, or unexpected event that influenced your journey. Then begin drawing lines between the dots.

Do not worry about making the connections logical or complete. Simply notice which experiences seem to belong together and what becomes visible when you view your life as a whole.
