In the Kitchen with Mandy
Issue 27
I want to connect with y'all the way we once did before social media became so tricky, so grab a cup of coffee and let's catch up!

Y'all. I just wrote an entire dissertation about my new favorite way to make a cup of coffee and my internet browser just  - pffffftt - shut down. Bloop. Gone.

Man, dang! Well, maybe it was divine intervention because I've been up a WHILE and had two BIG cups so I might have gotten a little too wordy and been a little too enthusiastic about it! I don't have the energy to type it all out again but I will tell you this… the Ninja Coffee Maker y'all recommended to me is amazing and I love it!

Anyway, I hope you're having a cup while you're reading this and we catch up a bit!

I put out two new recipes this week, bought a boat load of pork chops on sale and stocked up on some canned goods so here's what I got myself into this week!

Two New Recipes!

Aren't my zinnias pretty?! They ought to be done by now (and they're past their peak) but they just keep on blooming! All I did was throw seed out in the Spring!

P.S… we put up that arbor looking thing in the back when we discovered an old muscadine vine growing out of an old root stump. It's grown about halfway up so I hope I can nurse it along next year!

I stocked up on canned goods since they're expecting prices to shoot up (aluminum) so I needed to use up a few cans that were getting close to expiring. This is what I made!

OK, I haven't completely come down off the caffeine yet, so here's the Reader's Digest version of how I make my favorite cup of coffee now (with the Ninja):

8-oz brewed ground dark roast coffee (4 scoops with the included small scooper) set to “rich” plus about ⅓ cup hot milk (heated in a BIG mug in the microwave while the coffee brews). I sweeten both with monk fruit, use the frother to whip both the coffee and the milk (separately), then pour the coffee into the big mug with the milk. It's better than any specialty coffee I've ever bought at an overpriced cafe!

I am REALLY looking forward to having the first normal week I've had since… before New York?? Lord, that would have been JULY! Is it weird that I'm looking forward to five uninterrupted days of working and tending house??

I hope y'all have good, productive weeks (I'm praying I do too!). Thank you for spending your morning with me!

P.S… I know I am WAAAAAY behind responding to email but y'all know I don't like to rush through that, so I'll get to it soon when I have proper time!
