Dear Fam, I can't believe it. (Looks at clock) Yep, that's right. Fam…it's time to start talking about book two.
I know. I KNOW. Book one just came out. Some of you are still working your way through it. Some of you haven't started yet. And that's fine! We do have time. BUT book two--A Deviant Time--releases on Friday, October 23rd. ARCs will be sent out on Friday, October 9th, which is less than a month away! So, it's time we started talking about it. (Okay, I'll stop with the fancy typography with the word time, but the writer in me loves foreshadowing and hints and silly puns and…Well, you get it.) Okay. Let's be serious for a second. A Deviant Time is a tough one. Before I say what I have to say about this book, come close. |

I'm going to need you to trust me on this one. It's extra messy. It's everything you experienced in A Deviant Beginning cranked up to 11. In fact, the very first review A Deviant Beginning received said: |
|
And MAN, that reviewer was right. This book comes with a trigger warning for addiction and depression. If you have read A Deviant Beginning, it should come as no surprise as to which character I'm referring to. So if reading about a character who struggles with addiction and depression is a trigger for you, then A Deviant Time isn't the book for you. If you do decide to read book two, I'm going to hold your hand through this one. Remember, it's always darkest before the dawn. And book three is coming... Are you still with me? Here are a few things you need to know: |
|
A Deviant Time has much of the same messy business that was present in A Deviant Beginning: 🖤An FMC and MMC who are both Black and grown (age 30+) 💪🏾People with superpowers 👩🏾🤝👩🏿Found family 😈Morally gray characters 🌈LOTS of sexy times (even though it's not a romance), including MF, FF, and MFF 💥Action and adventure 🤫Secrets and lies ___________________________________________ But this time we add: 💰A heist ☠️Some unaliving 🍷Way too much drinking 💔Good people doing terrible things 😈Bad people doing terrible things And sooooo much more. ___________________________________________ Here's the blurb: A teleporter can escape from anything, except her own problems.
The bunker in California was meant to be a safe haven, but to Time Bandit (AKA Kathryn Henderson), it's a prison. She dreams of getting a place on the beach where she and Charge could live in peace. But when tragedy strikes the deviant community and the blame falls on them, her dreams are shattered.
Mario Russo and Javier Diaz from the New York branch of the Underground Deviant Network are investigating the disappearances of deviants from all over the country. Angela Martone, a powerful telepath, is building an army. With a deviant like Time Bandit on her side, she'd be unstoppable.
With Time Bandit in hiding, who will find her first? Can Javier convince her to stay away from Angela, or will she join the deviant's army? Whatever she chooses, Time Bandit’s time is finally running out. |

All right, so here's my last warning. Please do NOT sign up to ARC read A Deviant Time if you found A Deviant Beginning to be too messy, too spicy, too morally gray, or too violent. Because ALL OF THAT plus MORE shows up in A Deviant Time. However, if you were digging the world of the Underground Deviant Network in book one, then grab my hand and open your Kindle because we also get more of that as well. More deviants. More gifts. More intrigue. More action. More fun. Here we goooooooo! |
