Welcome to our new subscribers! We're sending you good vibes for the autumn from our Glen Garry Munros trip. The sun's out, the colour's are turning and it's a great time to get out and explore.
 
Have you noticed the nights starting to draw in quite rapidly as we advance through September? We're certainly starting to notice that running after dinner is now a headtorch “business”. It's definitely past time to dust off the lights for the bike if you're looking for a full day adventure.
 
As autumn starts to accelerate, we thought we'd let you in on a secret for this autumn. We've opened up some of our trips so you can book them at your convenience between October and mid December. Min booking of 2 people. Full details below.
 
Our 2027 calendar including the forthcoming winter trips is still a closely guarded secret on Andy's computer but he's working hard to make it a special one this year as he plans to finish his Munro round in March.

WESTERN ISLES WILDERNESS 2027
 
The Outer Hebrides are back on our programme for 2027, and we’re looking forward to returning to these wonderfully varied islands.
The beaches may be what you see most often in photographs, but they’re only part of the story. There are hills and coastal walks, huge open landscapes, ancient sites, local crafts and plenty of opportunities to see a different side of the islands away from the usual highlights.
Our Western Isles Wilderness trip will combine some great walking with time to explore more of what makes the Hebrides distinctive – from the beaches and rugged coastline to the Callanish Stones and the story behind Harris Tweed.
We’ll be travelling west in May 2027, with the trip now open for bookings.

A sense of place
 
Autumn in the Cairngorms — and a very different kind of Highland adventure.
 
Autumn is one of the prettiest times of year to explore the Cairngorms, with the hills and forests taking on their spectacular autumn colours.
Join us and our trusty pack horses, Yogi and Swift, on a guided 3-day adventure. The ponies carry the camping equipment, leaving you free to enjoy the walking with just a day pack.
 
We travel through the Cairngorms National Park before reaching our remote camp just beyond the Park boundary.
 
Then, after a day in the hills, it's back to our heated Nordic tipi for a warm, comfortable evening, a delicious home-cooked meal and somewhere to dry your gear.

Something new for autumn
 
We're trying something new this autumn and we've opened up some of our popular trips to be booked on open season dates. The schedule will be at your convenience. You choose the date and we'll run the trip, but there must be a minimum of 2 people. It's a novel way of running the season - let's see if you like it.

September has raced by and I'm only just going to get this out to you before October will be knocking at the door. The garden has continued to deliver bounty to the kitchen so please find some of the seasonal recipes we've been using recently below:
 
 
I always think September will be a wee bit calmer after the madness of July and August, but there is so much to process from the garden that it just ends up being a different kind of busy. We sold a lot of jam this week so I may be back over a hot jam pot soon as I want to make some apple butter and toffee apple jam before the apples go to waste - but first apple strudel! Guess what could feature in next month's seasonal recipe share!
