Issue #74 | September 28, 2026

Welcome back to Beyond the Tour, where twice a month you’ll get clear, practical enrollment strategies you can put to work this week.

Let's get started.
Miriam
If You Do One Thing This Week:

📋 1. Practice your own process.

Go through a student or parent interview yourself.

Have a colleague or parent ambassador interview you so you can experience answering the questions, the flow, the process.

You may be happy with what you have. But I bet you'll find a way to polish the gem.

Be in touch if you want to review your interview questions.

2 Tips to DO MORE:

🎓 2. Show alumni the love.

Send an email to your alumni that says “Applications are now open! Don't live here? Share with friends who live in the old neighborhood.”

Your alumni are built in ambassadors. It makes them feel connected and loved when you reach out.

Plus, they can give others the opportunity to have the same experience they had. I love a good win-win.

📋 3. Survey. Learn. Repeat.

Now that we're squarely into the school year, send a quick survey to your new parents and ask them about the admission process.

What helped and what didn't?
What events should you keep and what should you change?
What do they wish they had known that they know now?

3 questions is enough.

Bonus points: Schedule 3-5 phone calls with families for conversations that are more in-depth. You'll learn more, and it's a great opportunity to connect.

Your reach-out email can say:
Dear [Parents we love],
We are so happy you are a part of our school this year. As we look ahead to recruiting new families, we value your input into making our process as helpful as possible. Please take 5 minutes to answer a few questions, or schedule time [here] to chat for longer, if you'd like.

Just like your kids, we are learning, too.

Looking forward to seeing you at [the next parent event]!

Enquiry Tracker is a purpose-built admissions and enrollment platform for K–12 schools.

It replaces scattered spreadsheets by bringing inquiries, tours, applications, events, and enrollments into one centralized system:
  • Online forms,
  • Event registrations,
  • Personalized communications,
  • Pipeline tracking, and
  • Real-time reporting.
So admission teams and school leadership always know where each family stands.

But it's more than software;  Enquiry Tracker helps schools build warmer, more professional relationships while easing administrative workload.

Trusted by hundreds of schools worldwide, Enquiry Tracker enables smarter, data-informed decisions that boost conversion, resulting in higher admissions rates, stronger engagement, and sustainable enrollment growth.

I love a good win-win.

  3. Book me as a retreat facilitator or speaker. I am booking retreats now this Winter and Spring (and just booked for May 2027!). Please reply to this email or email me directly. I would love to plan something with you.
I’m a teacher at heart, and love helping people get better at what they do.
