Fall has finally arrived, and with it comes black walnut hulling season. In this month's newsletter, black walnut is our feature tree, along with information about the process of hulling and selling black walnuts.
On the podcast, we learn more about hummingbirds from retired Extension Agent Chuck Otte and share a great resource for tree selection to attract songbirds. Our final story this month is a look at a recent tree planting to help memorialize the life and work of retired State Forester Larry Biles and his wife, “Miss Sarah,” at a place that showcases their community-oriented lives.
Enjoy!
