We're absolutely delighted to share that BID business, Jinseon Korean BBQ, in Coventry city centre has been crowned Uber Eats UK Restaurant of the Year 2026!

Which is no small feat, seeing as the competition started with 45 restaurants from across the entirety of the UK. Jinseon was successful in becoming a finalist as one of just 9 regional champions that then went on to compete for the national title.

And this incredible independent Coventry restaurant officially went on to win the title - which is a remarkable achievement - and testament to the hard work, dedication, and delicious food that the whole team brings to the table every day.

We are incredibly proud and would like you to join us in congratulating Jinseon on their well-deserved win!

And if you haven't visited the restaurant of the year… what are you waiting for!? You can find Jinseon Korean BBQ at Priory Place on Fairfax Street.

banking hub for students
Coventry BID brought together Lloyds, NatWest, SBI and Nationwide to deliver a dedicated Banking Hub for students in the city.

By taking banking services directly onto the university campus, the initiative gave banks the opportunity to engage with students in a convenient and accessible setting, while helping to reduce pressure on city centre branches during a busy period.

Students were able to speak directly with banking representatives, open current accounts and receive practical financial guidance, including advice around fraud prevention and how to protect themselves from scams.

For the participating banks, the Banking Hub provided a valuable opportunity to reach a key customer audience, build relationships with students early in their banking journey and provide support outside of the traditional branch environment.

The initiative also demonstrated the value of collaboration between Coventry BID, city centre businesses and the university, creating a practical solution that supported levy payers while improving the student experience in Coventry city centre.

three tuns mural move
Coventry's post-war heritage is being preserved as the city centre moves forward, with the Grade II-listed Three Tuns Mural successfully lifted and safely stored ahead of its reinstatement near Coventry Market during the first phase of City Centre South.

Created by William Mitchell for the Three Tuns pub in 1966, the double-sided Aztec-style concrete mural was carefully separated and moved in four sections by Cliveden Conservation, completing the safe removal and storage of all public art being retained across the development.

Stuart Bale CEng MICE, Regional Director at The Hill Group, said: "The Three Tuns Mural is an important piece of Coventry's history, and it is important to us that it is preserved with the greatest possible care as we bring forward this transformational project.”

Cllr Lynnette Kelly, Cabinet Member for Jobs, Regeneration and Climate Change at Coventry City Council, said: "The Three Tuns Mural is a familiar and much-loved landmark for people across Coventry, so it's brilliant to see it saved and safely stored ahead of its future return to the city centre. It's a great example of how City Centre South is bringing together the best of Coventry's past with an exciting new future for the city.”

Once complete, City Centre South will provide up to 1,575 new homes, 8,000 sq m of commercial space and 17,000 sq m of public open space.
