Clinton, B.C.: The Llenllenéy’ten (High Bar) community expresses their solidarity and support for Tk̓emlúps te Secwépemc following the concerning events that took place on their territories on September 27.
We are deeply troubled by the emergence of a white nationalist public display in advance of the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. The timing is not a coincidence. Disparaging the residential school survivors and their relations in this manner is contemptible in the extreme.
Our thoughts are with survivors, elders, families, leadership, and community of Tk̓emlúps te Secwépemc. The protection and safety of our communities are paramount, as fellow Secwépemc we are united in honouring all residential school survivors.
To our community as well as theirs, we echo Kúkwpi7 Rosanne Casimir’s message not to approach or engage with members associated with this group. All suspicious or concerning activities should be reported to the RCMP immediately.
