This Month: While October lingers, seasonal flair in decor and fashion, a printable bookmark, and a cozy tomato harvest jam with roasted chicken recipe. |

A Quiet Pause October has a way of reminding us to notice what won't be here for long. As the new season rolls in, flowers display final blooms, leaves reach their peak of autumn color, the last of homegrown tomatoes are harvested, geese fly high overhead in a V-formation pointing south, warm air makes way for cooler brisk breezes and the reach for a warm blanket. With a soulful nod, we pause to notice moments such as these, and somehow they feel more precious. In witnessing these changes, there is something solemn yet hopeful at the same time. Is this possibly a gentle wink from God? A reminder to pause and reflect? Nature seems to whisper that nothing here stays quite the same. Flowers fade, the leaves fall, and one season quietly gives way to another. Perhaps there is something to be learned in that. What if these small endings are invitations to let go, and to trust what comes next? Maybe the real beauty of a fleeting moment is found partly in knowing that it cannot be held forever--trusting that every ending opens an opportunity for something beautifully new. |

As always, the links below are affiliate links, which means I may earn a small commission if you purchase through them, at no additional cost to you. I only share what I personally use and enjoy, or find genuinely lovey. My humblest thanks in advance for your support! In this month's Edit, I have gathered several items which give my home October flair on the gentler side. To me, this is the perfect time to showcase a few Mckenzie-Childs pieces along with traditional harlequin shapes, autumn textures/colors, and antique style brass. For style I've chosen a classic ensemble of black satin skirt, white button down shirt, black belt, suede style mules, black and white check (Mckenzie-Childs inspired) earrings, along with pretty red nail polish. Home Decor: Style Inspiration: This Month's Reading Corner: I recently found this classic Sherlock Holmes book a wonderful read, and because of its mysterious ambience, have included it in this months reading selection. I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I did! Reading Accompaniment: As always I like to include a fun or inspiring accompaniment to enjoy while reading. Complete your Holmes experience with a crackling vanilla tobacco scented candle. This candle ties perfectly with Sherlock Holmes and is a surprisingly delightful scent. Especially nice is the subtle crackling sounds. Note: This book and candle duo would make a great gift for any Sherlock Holmes fan! |

I'm thrilled to share with you this month's recipe, roasted chicken and vegetables with yellow pear tomato jam. It is very easy to prepare, uses only one pan, and is ready in under an hour. The yellow pear tomato jam adds just the right touch of sweetness and makes this simple dinner extra special. My family loved it, and I hope yours do too! If you give it a try, I'd love to hear what you think. Enjoy! Note: Any tomato variety can be used for the tomato jam recipe. |
