WEEKLY(ISH) NEWSLETTER
In the Kitchen with Mandy
Issue 30
I want to connect with y'all the way we once did before social media became so tricky, so grab a cup of coffee and let's catch up!

Good morning, friends! Y'all might be done with your coffee since it's so late! I'm just getting started with mine! Two things happened this morning…

The first is that I slept in until 8:00! And I swear I could have rolled over and slept another hour! It's really overcast AND the time hasn't changed yet. Speaking of… is it going to? Some are saying they're stopping that this year but I swear they say that every year so who knows??

The second is that there's some sort of critter living in the cabinets on the porch! I noticed one of the cabinet doors ajar so I walked outside to close it and just as I got within arm's reach, something pulled it closed from the inside! YIKES!! I jumped back like something bit me and every hair on my body stood up! I stood there, stunned, for a second imagining every fairytale creature from my childhood (and the thousands of books I've read in my 51 years) then I remembered I'm my Daddy's child and ran for the broom and the .22. By the time I got back, the door was wide open and the cabinet was vacated but something has clearly set up camp in there. And whatever it is, it's BIG!

I'm setting up a trail cam to see what we're dealing with and will report back! I kinda hope it's a raccoon. I know I shouldn't, but I think it would be cool to have a raccoon pal.

OK, now that my nerves have settled and I've got a cup of coffee in-hand, let's eat! Here's what I cooked last week and some things I have in mind to cook this week!

Doesn't he look like a little squirrel?? El Gato is unofficially Mama's but he and I got pretty tight when she went on a 2-week vacation and he's been hanging out with me a LOT lately! I don't mind, he's the sweetest little man and such a little cuttle nugget!

Sorry I'm so late this morning! I had to stop a time or two to assist Husband with the cabinet critter conundrum. He found a nest and won't quit bugging me. I'm like, JUST HOLD ON! I gotta write this newsletter and that nest ain't going nowhere so just cool it!

I hope your Sunday is less eventful than mine has been! Or not, maybe you need a little excitement today!

Take care of yourselves, my friends! Eat something good, read a new book, take a walk or learn something new  - just challenge your senses and enjoy this amazing world we live in!
