Titan Nation,

This week, our school, students, and faculty were recognized across several categories. From academic success to community service to artistic talent, our Titans continue to prove that reaching for excellence leads to success. We are so incredibly proud of the efforts of every single one of our Titans as they continue to strive for truth, goodness, and beauty.

2025 AP School Honor Roll
True North Classical Academy was awarded the AP School Honor Roll at the Platinum level, the highest recognition available, which only 8% of schools across the US and Canada reach.

For a school to be recognized on the AP School Honor Roll, it must meet several criteria, which include a specific percentage of college-focused culture, college credits, and college optimization opportunities. As of December 25, of the 16,068 eligible schools, only 36% earned a place on the 2025 AP School Honor Roll. Cementing our school as one of the top schools in the nation whose AP programs are delivering wide-reaching results for students.

The Giving Grill
The Giving Grill, a student-led nonprofit founded by five True North seniors, Aaron Sparaga, Macsen Rowlands, Milad Farajzadeh, Nicolas Bello, and Travis Phinney, was featured on CBS News Miami’s “Miami Proud” segment.

During the segment, our students had the opportunity to share a little more about their organization, a registered 501(c)(3) whose mission is to serve premium meals to those facing food insecurity, as well as how it was founded and how they fundraise to bring steaks to underserved communities. To date, The Giving Grill has served more than 300 meals.

Arete Text Seminar
Several rhetoric students took part in the first Arete Text Study of the 2026-2027 school year!

For this seminar, they discussed C.S. Lewis’s “Meditation in a Toolshed,” a short essay that wrestles with questions of perspective and how we see the world around us.

Text studies give our students the opportunity to explore great works of literature, while helping them grow. During each session, students gather for a Socratic seminar, have meaningful conversations with their fellow Titans, and, as an added perk, enjoy some delicious snacks.

True North Fine Arts Department
This week, our True North Fine Arts Department announced that 22 of our art scholars had their artwork selected for four countywide art exhibitions.

The Guiding Hands Art Exhibition, at Barry University’s Andy Gato Gallery, celebrates the dynamic relationship between Miami-Dade County Public Schools art teachers and their students. For this exhibition, a total of 10 students from our Sunset Campus and 2 from our Dadeland campus had their artwork selected alongside their teachers’ personal artwork.

The Nicklaus Children’s Hospital Art Exhibition, Beyond the Plate: Feast for the Eyes, is a STEAM exhibition that highlights the creative possibilities of fruits, vegetables, and organic forms of art. Three students from our Gateway campus, including siblings, had their artwork admitted to this unique exhibition.

The Miami International Airport Gallery Exhibition, Archetypes and Legendary Characters: Myth, Symbol, Story, is a STEAM exhibition that invited students to explore myth, symbolism, and storytelling by creating original artwork inspired by archetypal figures and legendary characters. Two of our Sunset students and one Gateway student had their artwork admitted to this fun exhibition that mixes creativity with tales.

The Small Works Exhibition, Fragments in Form: The Art of Assemblage, is a STEAM exhibition that invited students to transform individual fragments and everyday materials into unified works of art. Four students from our Sunset campus had their artwork admitted to this clever exhibition.
