Real (approachable) Style Advice for Real (grown-up) Women with
Real (smart) Budgets

October 24, 2026
We're enjoying a string of fantastic October weather here in Newport. Bright sunshine, mild temperatures, but still cool enough for fall sweaters, coats, and boots. Just about perfect New England fall weather!

Trying to enjoy every minute of it and NOT think too much about the cold, dark days of winter ahead. 🙄

I got quite a bit of feedback on the 10 Before 10 idea I shared last week. Apparently, I'm not the only one who wants to break up with her phone first thing in the morning!

I can't say I was perfect this week, but just being more aware of my knee-jerk habit of checking my phone has helped. One little change I've made is leaving it on the charger in the morning instead of carrying it around with me. Seems so obvious, but it takes discipline -- for me at least.

It's a work in progress, but I keep reminding myself – progress over perfection, right?

If you have any tips or tricks for breaking the mindless scrolling habit, please share! I'm all ears.

And if you missed last week's Weekend Update about my 10 Before 10 plan, you can find it, along with all the past editions, on my website, HERE.

Now, here’s what went on in B.Styled this week...

1. 🎥 Reel Recap: Wear the Pants…even on a random Wednesday
Those coated or faux leather pants don’t need a party or dinner reservations. In this reel, I’m showing how I wear mine casually, because our favorite clothes deserve to be worn, not saved. Watch for an easy outfit idea, then pick something you love but rarely wear and give it a turn this week.

And if you missed this week’s Just a Wednesday note, it’s all about this same reminder: most of life happens on ordinary days. Let’s wear the good stuff for those, too. Find this and all past Just a Wednesday notes on my website HERE.

2. 🎥 Reel Recap: Buttondown Shirt Hack (that doesn't require any special skill)
I’m usually skeptical of internet styling hacks, but this one is GOOD. It’s a quick, easy way to shorten a button-down shirt and create a clean line without a bulky tuck. Watch the tutorial and give it a try with a shirt you already own!

Another Set of Eyes (Mine!) 👀
This week's Smart Find is a little different. It's actually one of my own services, Style Access, and I wanted to share a few real-life examples of how it works.

This week, I helped two Style Access clients make some smart wardrobe decisions, all through simple text messages.

👉🏼 Client #1 was cleaning out her closet and sending me pictures of pieces that landed in her "Maybe" pile. You know that pile….things you're not wearing, but can't seem to let them go either.

We went back and forth, and I helped her decide what was worth keeping (and HOW to wear it) and what she could confidently donate.

👉🏼 Client #2 was shopping for a new pair of winter sneakers. She wanted a darker color that would work for her casual lifestyle, but wasn't sure which color made the most sense with the clothes she already owned.

We talked through her options and narrowed it down to a smart choice that would work with lots of outfits, not just one.

Here's what makes Style Access so practical and affordable.

I only charge for the time I actually spend helping you. And because we're working over text, it's incredibly efficient. We can answer a specific question, make a decision, and move on. No need to schedule an appointment or commit to a full styling session.

And sometimes, another set of eyes is all it takes to make a good decision.

In fact, Style Access often SAVES my clients money.

Case in point: One client was about to buy a very expensive cardigan because it was "on sale." But I reminded her of a similar cardigan she already owned (and had actually forgotten…you know how that can happen?) It served the exact same purpose as the one she was considering buying. She skipped the purchase and saved herself a big chunk of change.

That's the kind of practical, everyday help I love providing. Not just telling you what to buy, but helping you figure out what you already have, what you actually need, and what's worth your money.

Want another set of eyes on your wardrobe or your next purchase?

👉🏼 Learn more about Style Access HERE, and shoot me an email. We can chat about what you need and decide if it's a good fit.

I love helping women just like you make better style decisions, and my goal is to make getting dressed, shopping, and managing your wardrobe more approachable, practical, and even enjoyable. 😘
