Even the moon is in tune with love month.
Welcome to February, widely regarded as love month as it boasts the one day of the year that people feel socially obligated to "show their love" in commercially-imposed ways. I've been redefining Valentine's Day for over six years now, and due to family responsibilities (and because I promote self-love and self-care 24/7, 365), I'm taking this year off. Lucky for me, this Full Moon in Leo's got my back. Let's talk about how this Full Moon is flipping the script on this commercialized holiday, and how we can use its energy to cultivate healing and harmony for our mind, body, and soul.
The Sun is still in airy Aquarius, but the fiery Full Moon in Leo, ruled by the Sun, comes to meet it. We already know that Full Moons are ripe for introspection and liberation from aspects that weigh us down on our journey. So as you can imagine, having a Sun-ruled sign in a Full Moon shines a fateful light on all the things we're meant to see, acknowledge, forgive, and let dissolve. Not for our detriment of course. If I haven't said this enough, the Universe/God/Spirit doesn't punish us, but instead gifts us opportunities to shift our vibration and show up for our visions and intentions.
Although emotions might run amok as they typically do during these lunations, we're being called to align with our own Sun, our core, who we truly are. This is a time to not just look but really see as the depths of our lives are being illuminated. A time to give ourselves grace while we feel ourselves through the darkness and back to our fire. A time to reframe our circumstances as temporary trials on our journey towards evolving past current versions of ourselves. Put simply, this is a time to remember wtf we are and shed the rest.
The Moon is also in alignment with Mars, the planet of motivation. So if you needed any more divine reassurance that it's okay to move, weightless, in the direction of our dreams, this is it. Not only are we supported in our self-love pursuits, but if we steep ourselves in Mars' juicy energy, we'll restore the strength, power, and passion we need to burn through any fear that has calcified on the surface.
If you've been running on E, quite like I've been since the last New Moon in Aquarius, gas yourself up with Leo's confident, passionate, creative energy these next few days. Much like the last lunation, this ain’t a time to play small. Remember when I said that you can either lounge in fear of the unpredictability of life or love the fact that it’s here to shake us? This time, moon energy is here to shake us out of repetitive, ego-driven self-talk, shake us out of outdated mental patterns and behaviors, and shake us into loving ourselves deeply through the process.
Forgive yourself for all the times you've done otherwise and give yourself the grace to take up whatever space you need to at this moment.
