We’ve often heard someone say, “iron sharpens iron” without really understanding the meaning behind the popular scripture from Proverbs 27:17. What does it really mean and how can you apply it to your business model? Simply put, think of the word sharpen to mean on point or alert. As an entrepreneur we experience a wide variety of emotions from being burned out, cheated, or even get full of ourselves – forgetting where we come from as we taste the sweet success of our hard work. Who is in your circle? Who has your back? Who is on your team?
The people you keep around you as you move towards establishing and chasing your dreams are very important. Keep people close to you that are dependable, will actively help push you to your goals, and are not competitive. Think of people who will not slow you down or interfere with your vision. An iron-sharpening friend or partner is a real gift! They will build you up and challenge you to be the best version of yourself. Do not discount your gifts either. Limiting your growth to please others around you is… growth stunting! You will never maximize your potential living below a level God has said you should live up to. Check your circle and add to it to ensure it’s a Winning Circle!
