Very early on in these newsletters we spoke about how to start a blog or website + why you should have one. 

To refresh your memory, we don't own any of these social media platforms. As content creators, influencers and small business owners we must always have access to the communities we serve. 

Which is where a blog, website and newsletter come in. 

Today we're going to talk about how your community can easily access all your social media and owned platforms through what has been coined a “link-tree”.

WHY USE A LINK TREE?

A link tree is essentially a webpage that contains all the links to places where your content lives. They will usually match your branding in color and font as well. 

People put them in their Instagram Bios, TikTok Bios, Pinterest Bios etc. because there is only space for one link. So instead of only being able to add a link to your blog for example, you can now add one link to a page that contains links to all your social platforms, newsletters, podcasts and more.

Adding a link tree allows your community to easily access more of your content. 

HOW + WHY YOU SHOULD HOST YOUR OWN LINK TREE

WHY

There are now tons of websites that provide you with beautiful easy to create link trees. And I'm here today to tell you not to use them.

These websites benefit off the traffic you send to them from your link tree. You may have 1000s of people per month clicking that link that your website gets no credit for!! 🤯

It's a bit more work to do it yourself but the benefit 100% out weights the initial time commitment to set it up.

About a year ago I came across this amazing guide that helped me create my own link tree. I cannot recommend it enough! It's what I followed and used for both my Simply by Simone and Simply Society Link Trees. 

I can't stress enough that it's the little details like this that ADD UP. You can do this!  Who's hosting their own link tree?
