The last 4 weeks have been a culmination of at least a year's worth of hope, a firm trust in science and good old fashioned planning. We were able to safely have our family here for Thanksgiving. Last week, Brian changed jobs. Now, we're getting ready to travel cross-country next week for the first time in two years - and I forgot how sweet the feeling of anticipation for travel is.
When I look back over this year, there have been so many sweet moments - and taken together they have greatly outweighed the bitter ones. Quiet thanks over mundane things, hugs of greeting that lasted a touch longer than they would have two years ago, and the gentle hope that we're not simply going back to our old, broken normal, but instead resetting to a better, truly new one.
