No, I'm not talking about your latest creation. 😆
I'm talking about what's actually going on in your brain when you think about making your art, or when you are in the middle of making it.
However you feel about affirmations, or mantras, or whatever you want to call choosing more positive thoughts, at the most basic level, thoughts that support are going to help more than thoughts that hurt or diminish.
So it behooves us to choose them as much as possible, right?
I like to write them on post it notes and stick them up in my house and studio. They can say anything at all as long as it's encouraging, kind, positive, and causes you to feel motivated.
If I don't have them where I can see them, I forget, and my brain leaps at the opportunity to stay in its cosy habitual negative grooves.
We have to take ownership of our thoughts if we're going to live our truest happy artist lives.
I love this one from Modigliani - who knew he'd be a source of positive thinking?!
“I am now rich in fruitful ideas and I must produce my work.”
Amedeo Modigliani
What will you write on the studio wall?
