Hi friends, As expected, July has been wild and continues to be so. I started the very first day of it with exhaustion and fever, only to discover two days in bed later that I had my first and hopefully last COVID experience. Initially, I felt betrayed by my body a little, especially since it was the week of my birthday and I had a trip coming up. However, gradually, my resentment turned into gratitude because my symptoms were easily soothed by sleeping. Not many people can say that about their experience. On my COVID birthday, I woke up to the noise of my two kids going back and forth in the house instead of spending time downstairs at their grandparents’ like they usually do. Then I found out they were cleaning up the living room and that my 8-year-old daughter invited the family to come to celebrate me at a distance. She even prepared some snacks as cucumbers cut into circles and some nuts. She also got the forks and plates ready for the cake that my mother-in-law made for me. It was lovely. Two days later, my husband and I said goodbye to our kids and got on a plane with our friends to Greece for a week of unforgettable vacation that ended yesterday morning. |

So you can imagine like I mentioned a few Sunday Sparks ago, how all my routines got pushed to the side in July so far, but not for long because I don’t want to make starting them a big or scary comeback. I will journal, walk, meditate, and work out every once in a while to keep in touch with my well-being until things slow down in August and I start waking up early again. That is my reminder to you today; your brain has done some excellent wiring by committing to your good habits before, and you will not lose that wiring quickly. Don’t quit them for long to avoid making it too hard to start over. Meanwhile, happy occasions and gatherings with dear friends visiting for the summer are coming up. I guess many of you can relate, and I hope you take many pictures while you enjoy the moment. |

Some cool resources I personally use, love and recommend, with discounts just for you: - I like to start the day with my personalized Momentum plus tab, which helps me stay focused with a powerful mantra, an inspiring image, a to-do list, countdowns to big dates, and world clocks where I keep an eye on time zones of friends and family living abroad before contacting them. Being a newsletter friend, you would get a special offer of a 10% discount when you subscribe to Momentum Plus with the promo code: bardees.
- In the past two years, my work routine pretty much consists of going over to Brain Fm, selecting deep work music for a certain duration and the rest is... focus. You get 20% discount on your subscription using my code: bardees.
- Enjoy 10% off my favorite gratitude journal that I have been using since 2017, The Five-Minute Journal, using the code Bardees10. One journal will last you 6 months. I loved the newly released colored covers.
- Enjoy 10% off my favorite daily planner, The Full Focus Planner, using the code Bardees10. One planner will last you 90 days.
- Enjoy a free month of the Readwise app to remember your highlights from books/articles you read on Kindle or websites.
