AIMA Laboratories is a new Female technology (Femtech) company focused on creating products to fill current gaps in women's health*, specifically endometriosis, chronic pelvic pain, and infertility. Founded by two McMaster University scientists with extensive experience in women’s health, AIMA Labs is dedicated to shortening the diagnostic pathway for women with chronic pelvic/period pain and fertility issues. Our first product is nearing release to the market. Please stay tuned for exciting news and updates through this newsletter and across our social media platforms.
We are excited to share some recent milestones with you…
🤝 We announced our partnership agreement with Innovative Health Diagnostics(IHD), an American FDA and CLIA-certified lab, to deliver a new, reliable at-home blood test to detect endometriosis. This partnership is important because it will enable us to begin sales of our first product in the US in the very near future.
🩸 We were accepted in the Southern Ontario Pharmaceutical & Health Innovation Ecosystem (SOPHIE) Commercialization Projects, a three-year funding program through the Federal Economic Development Agency of Southern Ontario. In partnership with McMaster University, we are running a commercialization pilot for our screening test to detect endometriosis.
🎥 The co-founders of AIMA Laboratories made the headline on CHCH TV evening news on August 31, 2022.
*We acknowledge that not everyone with endometriosis, chronic pelvic pain, or infertility identifies as a woman or female. We position ourselves as a Femtech company because we are among other companies in this sector using technology to address concerns that primarily affect girls, women, non-binary folks, trans people, and people assigned female at birth. At AIMA we try to minimize the use of gendered language and we are committed to cultivating a community that is inclusive of all genders.
