From my heart to your inbox, I'm sharing a story…

If you recall, in a recent email I was in a bit of a pickle. (Click green button above to read.)

I had all-but-promised to make a quilt for my niece's wedding shower which was in less than a month.

That meant picking a pattern, choosing fabrics, possibly ordering fabrics if I couldn't find anything local, and making the quilt. And, I'd need four to five mailing days!

Whew! That's a tall order in a short period of time.

And that got me thinking.

I'm not alone in this. I betcha' there are lot of you out there who've wanted to put together a quilt for a gift, but ran into issues of time, expense, or even ability.

The Real Reason We Quilt

Quilting is a hobby for most of us, and we may dream of one day making a Dear Jane quilt, most of our quilts don't have to be quite that complicated or show-worthy.

Sometimes, a quilt just needs to be simple enough to piece, quilt, and bind in a weekend.

After all, it's about the quilt recipient and not the quilter. I believe most of us desire to make something special that we can wrap around our loved ones.

Something New-ish
And that, my friends, is how the Cozy Cottage quilt pattern began. Watch for more details about the upcoming release of this pattern later this month.

If you're on Instagram, I'm sharing some of the day-to-day pictures for this pattern.

👰🏻‍♀️ And, yes, I made a my niece a quilt that she and her husband love. It arrived just in time for her bridal shower!
