A couple more things I'd like to suggest before you start sewing…
1- Take an extra 15 minutes to organize your block pieces. As mentioned on Page 2 of the pattern, there are four colorways of Sparrows blocks. Each colorway is made six times - Three of those blocks will be left facing and the other three will be right facing. Organizing your pieces into each colorway will help you avoid repeats of a color because it was overused early on in the block making process. A great method for doing this, courtesy of one of the Sparrows QAL participants, is shown below!
(If making the bed size, there are still four colorways. Each colorway is made 9 times. 21 of the blocks are right facing and 15 are left facing.)
2 - Since we are making 6 blocks (or 9 for the bed size) during Weeks 2 - 5 and there are 6 or 9 blocks in each colorway, I recommend making a set of blocks from one of the colorways each week OR make your left or right facing blocks from two of the colorways each week (an example of that is pictured above). Doing this will greatly help avoid confusion later!
