Happy Fridayyyyyy.
I was relaxing on a hotel bed when I simultaneously got both a call and a text from our security company. “Your alarm has gone off, are you okay?” Ummm, WHAT.

We were on vacation, so the cops had to go out to our home. Upon arrival, they see nothing. I call my neighbors, and they see nothing. No sign of break in, everything looks clear.

The security company informs me that while the shatter detector went off on the windows, the motion detectors inside the house did not go off. I cause a bit of a scene over the phone for the lack of answers, and they politely remind me that they've done all they can do. The alarm is back on, and we go to bed assuming all is well and maybe the alarm scared someone off.

Fast forward to the next day, we drive home. I open the door, and guess what the hell I saw. JUST GUESS.

Art. ON THE FLOOR NEAR THE WINDOW. It had fallen so hard it triggered the shatter detectors on the window. All that drama, over a damn gold frame. The sheer irony of my art addiction interrupting our vacation is not lost on me. I felt so bad.

Daily Delights
I listened to an episode with Ross Gay on the Podcast, We Can Do Hard Things. It was such a beautiful episode, I highly recommend listening.

One of the things discussed, was a book he had written chronicling small daily wonders. A powerful exercise was shared during that conversation about a group of friends that get online every morning for 20 minutes just to share their delights every day--from big things to small things like having a hummingbird land next to you, or seeing a beautiful sycamore tree. The host, Glennon, said she started doing this with her dad. Every day they'd send each other a picture of something that delighted them. Isn't that so neat? I'm a huge fan of gratitude journals, but this just takes it to the next level. The communal nature of it is just so special.

I'd love to start this with my friends and family (could be as simple as a group chat). Y'all should definitely try it too.

I can't stop thinking about this quote.
Great conversation with Yung Pueblo on the podcast, Diary of a CEO. But it was this quote below (from Yung's book) that I haven't been able to stop thinking about.
